hmm well watever u ppl say. my plan is to have a 92 240sx fastback. and well i want the car to be a different color than the rims and a 6 inch high aluminium wing. call me rice but hey its still going to look good. and yes i have already seen the wing for $390 at the local performance store. and well i do want a kit but i want an add on kit in the front and sides with a full kit on the rear bumper. and well here are my options.
for rims im thinking about tenzo R shu 4 or shu 10 or the 5 spoke wheels made by nismo on nismo.comand yes everything that is an accesory in the car will be nismo as well.
black car with silvery grey rims( you know the regular kind), aluminium spoiler and a hood that matches the spoiler. midnight blue car with silvery grey rims, aluminium spoiler ad hood same as above.silver car or white car with gunmetal rims, carbon fiber hood, and the matcing carbon fiber spoiler i saw at the store.

I think that it's an age thing. I'm 23 and when i was 16-17-18 ish, I would tend to go for the ricer effect. Right now I own a 91 Silvia and the body has a few small dents and it has stock wheels. I really don't care about the looks as of right now in the project, but would rather work on the performance. I have a brother that is 15. He is drawn to ricer type stuff. Big rims, wings, body kits, etc.
As far as the first post. Honda does make good cars. That is all I owned until now. I've had 87prelude, 87 accord, 92 civic, and a 99civic si. The 99si was a nice car. But to make some serious hp, the motor needed to be pulled and the internals all worked, buy a good turbo, fmic, fuel management system, and good exhaust. I opted to sell it for 12 grand and buy an original Silvia and with the extra money in hand I could then buy some good performance parts........ my 2 cents worth

I have two friends (brothers) who have a turbo gs-r with a built motor putting down 302fwhp and a hatchback with a built gsr motor putting 215 to the wheels in a light *** car and he also sprays. They went to the track and could only pull low 13s. Both of them got so little traction that it made good runs nearly impossible. But both cars are very fast from a roll and they are both very good looking, as in no rice. But yeah maybe its just the people that I hang out with but there isnt much rice around now. Although not all their cars are fast they are all very clean. Seems to me most of people in my are going for clean JDM looks now.
And I used to have an '01 Prelude and I can tell you that the H22 is an amazing motor. I used to be able to pull on Mustang GTs in 3rd gear when I hit VTEC. That car was a little beast.

I dont think its a matter of age really, its a matter of your personality. Some people want a car that impresses people with its looks. Something that will make old women swerve into medians. I for one am not really impressed with body kits/wings. I would much rather impress people by beating them in a 1/4 mile because its alot more fun to spank someone with a stock looking car than with one that has and exterior so worked on you have to think there are some engine mods. When I first started getting into cars, about 6 months before Fast and the Furious 1, I was definately into looks. I'm 17 now and the only look enhancements Im gonna make on my car are rims, a paint job, and maybe I 'll lower it an inch or so. I just think the 240 is already an intimidating and sporty looking car. I can sympathize with people who put body kits on Civics because they do look like grocery getters. I just think you take it a little far when you are putting hood scoops and Z3 fenders on 97 Civics.

yes.. there should be no honda hating or any other hating on here. it is your personnal prefference on what brand you go with. honda build the b16a that puts out 100hp per liter. that is a huge defeat in itself. gotta give em props for that. isn't nico a message board for nissan and infiniti ppl to stick together as a fam. and do ask and discuss nissan and infiniti questions? honda shouldn't even be mentioned.. oh well.. i'm going to end up driving a mustang one of these days. my wife has been wanting a yellow mustang conv. for yrs. i told her that i'm not buying no ***** 6cyl. that they put in them.. going cobra here. ahahha.. i'll still keep my silvia forever though.. i'm starting a collection. once i get done modding my silvia i'm getting me a skyline.. r32 i think.. much luv to nissans.. oh yeah my sister just got a 95 infinit g20 with the sr20de in it....

If you've ever seen any of the other posts, you will see that I always go against anyone who says honda sucks or yata yata yata.... Honda is a very good auto company. They brought us the NSX, the S2000, and the 95 Prelude V-Tec, lightweight and fast. Of course there are Civics out there that are riced up but then again what car isn't? I've seen some really nice civics. The reason why everyone buys a civic is because it's cheap and it's like clay . .you turn it into whatever you want to. Dont have on Honda, hate on Ricers ,and dont call someone a ricer if you haven't checked under their hood.

ey if u say hondas are rice cars then u havnt seen all cars around here. ive seen nissan sentras with graphics , humongous wings and body kits that look completely ugly. matter of fact theres a s14 240sx ive seen with a body kit and a hge aluminium wing painted candy apple red. u cant hate on a certain car. just have to hate the drivers. matter of fact i went down to the illegal drags this weekend and i saw a 94 supra. yes ricer. the guy had 5 spoke rims and dual 4 inch exhaust tips. and yes the car was also auto. lets just say he got burned by a camaro after 20 seconds of showing off and revving hard. any car should be respected and well the driver is another thing. instead of hating a rice car, we should hate the driver for doig that to a car.

every car on earth gets riced, and apparently every male goes through a brief infatuation(sp?) with rice. When you first get into cars its because your attracted to unique features of cars, and nothing is more unique then a 3 foot park bench strapped to the back of a gremlin. It's just some people get over the initial allure of "rice" and move towards more functial modifications. People who like functial mods make fun of those who are still in their rice phase, or never grew out of it. "Rice" is like a fad, you love the fad for about a week, you get over it and then bash on anyone who still likes said fad. It just happens that, Most people who are into rice happen to own honda's because of their appealing qualities they are cheap, reliable, and easily modified. Putting these qualities into their auto's doesnt make honda a bad Rice loving company it makes honda a very smart company. Honda just gets backlash from people who think honda is somehow promoting rice.

One last thing i dont think most of the people on this board truly bash honda. I think its just easier to name a company to bash on that is associated with rice by a great number of people.

a lot of people just seem to be restating, re-hashing and just right out expressing the same idea or point that everyone else has seemed to have explained a million times already. IMO its APC's fault for ruining Hondas name in some places (Cheap "Performance" parts):pface
If SleepyS13 is who I think he is hes seen some of the crap around town GIANT APC WINGS, NEONS, WIPER LEDS AND a BIG EXHAUST and all of a sudden you can call yourself a racer. (And some of these people will race you even if you pulled up next to them in a Viper) There are a few Hondas here in Killeen that are very respectable but at the same time the owners of those cars choose not to put retarded things on their cars. Ive yet to meet a Civic covered in Vynil, APC products,etc etc that I couldnt beat with my stock 91 240.
Its not so bad with other makes of cars because APC and other cheap parts companies dont really focus on anything but honda and a few random other cars.
I keep losing my train of though because im in class so this post might look a lil retarded and not come across clearly but to make a point. Have any of you seen APC (or other cheap parts companies) advertise parts for 240sx,eclipse GSX,WRX,Supra. IF the ricers cant afford it they cant rice it.
