i answer like that...why because some punk in a VW thinks he's hot **** cuz Daddy bought him a car and some aftermarket partsDrifting takes skill and tons on practice. Some statements are sarcastic. he says....wanna race= i can beat you straight linei say wanna drift = i don't drag race...i drift...and i know you don'tGET IT?!Quote »Chances are unless you have gone onto a track that you dont know how to drift correctly (or maybey just drift period.)
are you doubting me? do you know me? do you know anything about drifting? you sound like someone that has a plain definition of drift, can't do it.....never been on a track himself, and decides he wants to make judgement.Quote » Add to that your on a street, and drifting is just plain DUMB. This isnt initial D, this is real life. What if you spin out and smash your car up, or get injured? what if HE spins out and smashes his car up and gets injured? Just dumb.
you call drifting...dumb. okay so you don't like it, "your opinion" this isn't initial D...wow....your right i am two dimensional!!! gee i wonder where they got the idea behind that cartoon? OBVIOUSLY you drag race on the street...HEY THIS IS FAST AND THE FURIOUS!!! Do you have any idea what time of day or night this took place? What part of town? no you don't.....you are too quick to judge. however i do admit i got caught in the adrenaline and normally would not drift under those conditons. car repairs are part of drifting....you think i've never damaged a car at the TRACK???? come on. and he wouldn't spin out....why??? cuz i knew he wasn't going to try to drift.Quote » And while some argue that street drag racing is dangerous, its no where near the level of drifting on public roads.
argue???Street drag racing IS dangerous.....there is no argument about it. You stick some 16 year old kid (or anyone of any age)with no real driving experience behind the wheel of a CRX with a B18 w/ a turbo kit and let him pull over 100mph on a city road somewhere with another 16 year old kid in his car driving next to him and high speeds and YOU DON"T THINK THAT'S DANGEROUS?? do you realize most drifts are no more than 40mph? i never said it was safe. you said drag racing is.Quote » And reading the rest of the story it doesnt sound like you really even raced, u did a rolling start and those dont count worth ****. Dont be a foo, stay in drugs and dont do school man.
like i care if we really raced...im not a drag racer. figure it out!oh damn a rolling start don't count....boo hoo.

i don't appreciate ANYONE telling ANYONE on this board that what they do is dangerous...and stupid. don't tell me or anyone else that we are stupid for being a Drifter? sure people can be dumb for doing under the wrong cicumstances...i made the mistake a drifting a corner with no spotter. tell me that that was not a good decision. i'll accept that. you try to attack me.....i'm not hearing it.

also if there is anyone in here...including K-Car......that has never drifted, exceded the speed limit, drag raced, changed a radio station or used a cell phone while moving, on a public road. THEN BE MY guest you can tell us all our faults.....until then you worry about yours and i'll worry about mine. I THINK IS SPEAK FOR EVERYONE.i'm not trying to insult anyone and 'I' haven't called anyone dumb but i'm sick of this ****.

The speed limiter is much higher on the VW/Audi, so it'll eventually outrun the 240. That doesn't matter most of the time, though. Most people run out of balls before they run out of car.

I've had mine for more than two years, and I've never heard the blowoff valve. I'm skeptical of SpeedDrift's assertion that he did.

I'm also with 89sxRCR on the lameness of responding to a race challenge with 'wanna drift?', and the stupidity of doing so on a public road. Life isn't Initial D, and there's no one out running a push broom over the road for you or looking for hazards. Believe me, nothing will ruin your day faster than a gravel patch at the apex of a turn, or a double-parked car just outside your line of sight.

And Dog help you if you run someone over while screwing around like that. Vehicular homicide isn't the kind of charge you can just pay a fine for.

Man, I must be getting old.

i never said i beat the car, i beat the driver. i think i pointed out clearly that it was because of driver error that i smoked him. he shifted 3 times which actually put him in 4th gear! in the original post i said 3rd...but no thinking of it he was in forth..yes i pulled from him so easily and i DID hand him his *** as you say, BECAUSE of driver error. think i wouldn't pull 8-9 cars under those conditions?

the car was lowered on 18" rims.....the guy wanted to drag race. ever think after-market blow-off valve?

and as i said in the previous post.....yeah it was my mistake for doing it under those conditions with no spotter for the corner i drifted. your right. i think i also already explained the "wanna drift?" statement....but to add is it equally as "lame" to ask someone to race? and yes i do drift, i drift well, been doing it longer than most people on this forum have had their licenses. i normally do exercise extreme caution. much more caution than i have ever seen at any illegal drag race i've witnessed. have you never driven in a manner not perfectly safe on public roads yourself? have you done it in more traffic than one other car?

DRIFTING....is not for everyone and if you read my post in my thread "your best drift theory here" i do tell anyone learning to drift too exercise caution ...and keep it in a parking lot ...until they feel completely confident etc...

once again i'm not trying to insult anyone...i appreciate the same.

ok "skippy"quote me.....i'll quote myself....the parts you left out? why? probably made it easier for you to tell me that i was wrong?..read it again. i admitted that drifting a corner that i didn't have a spotter was careless. i admitted my mistake. i also said that tell me it was not a good decision and i'll except it. don't try to attack me as you just did.

and as for you whole statement about me trying to get backers? i am speaking for anyone else that other members like yourself might feel inclined to attack in the future because you think your some sort of almighty driver without flaws. i am just so sick of the negativity from some members in this forum.

if you drive you car like you say you do....

Ayup. Did I specify where I throw the car around?

Smell that? It's the odor of your point evaporating.

Come on up to RI sometime, and I'll show you some great sweeping turns on highway interchanges and other closed roadways. They're perfect for doing the kind of driving you want to do, without the risk of hitting a busload of orphans.

here you go in original full form.

Funny, my wife just uncomfortable noises when I throw the car around.

"um...umum."

"You know dear, if you're holding that sissy bar and we actually hit something, you're going to break your wrist."

*gasp*

"That wasn't even close. Look, the dog isn't even awake."

"She sleeps through everythng. Heyyyy..."

"Brace with your thighs, it'll keep you from sliding around in the seat."

"Are the tires supposed to make that noise?"

"That's how you know they're working."

"Next time, we're taking seperate cars."

__________________

please deny it all...i suppose you were at a track....with your dog in the backseat? or was that dog on the side of the road? read your own post....taking seperate cars? to race.....you wife races...go ahead lie about that **** too. you know it just sucks because i was not trying to get into with anyone, especially not you because i usually enjoy your posts. simply put as you won't say here it is in italics

now read real slow so you understand...i admit that ONE specific drift was careless and normally we only drift on closed courses , parking lots, the track, autocross, or public roads with spotters, lots of them basically creating our own closed course on a public road 2-3 in the morning.

I believe SpeedDrift is highly experienced in drifting, and I don't think he drifts in heavy traffic during rush hour...keep in mind also that he isn't some 16 year old kid who just found out what drifting is. He's been drifting since 91 I believe, and I know he along with many people on this board are very mature about street racing, drfiting, etc....so I don't see what people have a problem with him about.

Sorry for not responding earlier, i went on a little vacation. Not to bring back arguing, but i have a right to defend myself from previous posts from SpeedDrift, even though k car has been doing an excellent job. :) Speed, you posted that how DARE anyone tell someone else on this board what is dangerous. **** you, you are retarded if you think this. Someone posts about driving their car off a cliff, ill tell them that they WILL get injured. You continue to drift on PUBLIC roads and you WILL get injured. And i dont care if you claim you can drift like the wind, i bet you cant if you have never been on a track. heres another one: PUBLIC roads are not just for you to act like a f_uck face on, my family drives on those same roads, and my mom was involved in a SIERIOUS accident in which a IDIOT such as yourself thought he could be a bad *** on a near abandoned public road, and take turns fast. Near abandoned except for my mom. She ended up in the ER with mutltiple broken bones, and has pins still in her arm. her car (a nissan maxima) was totalled. An imprint of her lipstick was on the airbag. The guy? His car was smashed sure, but he had no broken bones, was fine, except he is now paying for that accident through lawsuits. That could be you, so F/UCK you if you say i cannot tell you what is dangerous.

Look I'm gonna just be cool about this. I understand your point; however don't be so quick to judge me. If you read my posts I say over and over again that in that one situation I was careless...I, myself admitted that in my first response to your post. The only reason it was careless was because there was a car within my proximity(behind me) and i didn't have a spotter on the corner(however i had an unblocked view of the road I turned onto).I never drift under those conditions, this time was foolish. As I've said over and over again. But for some reason you feel like you want to flame and me and call me stupid and say **** you. Why? Can't you just accept my explanation and leave it be? Is it because I am an easy target because I will not try to flame on you? The reason I don't flame on anyone is...everyone is entitled to their opinions and I don't see the sense in attacking someone because I have a difference of opinion. Also there is so little information in a post, I could not possibly make judgement on someone without knowing the full extent of the details. That is part of the reason it made me so upset that you decided to attack me without knowing the details....

i posted:i don't appreciate ANYONE telling ANYONE on this board that what they do is dangerous...and stupid. don't tell me or anyone else that we are stupid for being a Drifter? sure people can be dumb for doing under the wrong cicumstances...i made the mistake a drifting a corner with no spotter. tell me that that was not a good decision. i'll accept that. you try to attack me.....i'm not hearing it.

As you see maybe I worded things wrong but I felt that way because your lack of information on the situation and you made such a quick and harsh judgement. I also said go ahead and tell me I made a bad judgement call but don't start calling me stupid and drifting dumb.

So since this arguement won't seem to die let me enlighten you with some details.

I have been drifting since 1993, longer than most people on this forum have had licenses.

I have been on track, drifted on track.

I have raced autocross for more years than I can remember.

This story took place after I got off work, it was 2 a.m.

This took place in a wide open area with no houses or open businesses in the area.

There is only ONE crossroad for a 2-3 mile stretch(the one i turned on)

There was nothing blocking my view of the crossroad.

If you can't imagine it....basically a couple roads in the middle of nowhere with no one around at 2 o'clock in the morning.

The only reason I feel it was somewhat careless was myself and our drift club take extra precautions......even in the middle of nowhere where most people wouldn't.

This is why I don't appreciate your quick judgement of my actions. I don't appreciate the insults and the attacks. MAYBE now you understand why you shouldn't be so quick to judge.

by the way sorry about your mother....but not the same situation.

I repeat, why the hell does he think that you can only drift if you've been on a track?? Wasn't it the Drift King himself who didn't go to a track for years? Wasn't his liscence revoked for drifting on the street?

While this may not be safe, you are totally wrong to say that you have to go to a track to drift properly, thats just stupid. Whats so special about a track?? Is it the only magical place in which people learn how to drift? You know how much money it would coost someone to learn how to drift if they only did it on a track?

And why do you have to keep bashing him about not being safe. HE SAID HE DID SOMETHING STUPID! Let it go.....or did you not read the whole thread and just wanted to flame him for no reason...Get your head out of your a**, especially since you didn't know the situation, and can't read the thread properly.

No matter how experienced anyone is at drifting they can and do still crash. Is this a hard concept to understand? Even the pro's crash, it is unavoidable sometimes. There was about two more pages of posts between my first one, so that response of mine was only to your first rebuttal speed. I did not read the other pages but i have now. Apexi you are very wrong however. On a track, when people learn to drift, they spin out CONSTANTLY in the beggining. You learn through working out your failures. You get maybey a fraction of the time on the street, and crashing is not an option. There is no instructor telling you what you have done wrong or need to work on. I race 600cc motorcycles, ON A TRACK. TO act like i was racing on a street would be deadly. And yes it would cost money to learn how to drift properly, do you have a problem with that? It costs money to learn how to fly an airplane too, everything has a price. Your point that you can learn drifting entirely on the street is not likely, though i will admit over a long period of time (speeds 9 years) you can hone some skills, especially with others, clubs, on closed off streets. There was a reason the drift kings license was revoked; its illegal and dangerous. And did YOU not read about the accident involving my mother, which is why i harp on safety, all it takes is one time you stupid ****. Or maybey you want to go to prison for involuntary manslaughter...there is no excuse. **** the situation, IN MY OPINION drifting is always wrong on public roads. Get your head out of YOUR *** and start thinking apexi...is it worth it.

I guess in Stockton, Californian you have NO INDUSTRY? Why would I drift on the street, that is what parking lots are for. There are multiple parking lots by me that are bigger than football feilds, with lighting, ect. You can spin out all you want and never get close to a curb, and if you do....well then you crashed, just like on a track. You will find absolutly no one around, its behind a building so there is no through traffic. How many people use industrial parking lots at 2am?? Drifting on streets where there is possible through traffic is bad, but in huge lots....whats the problem? Especially when you are with people that have done it before and can give you pointers, and help you out. My head is out of my a**. I'm safer than most other car enthusiasts that I know. I don't race on streets, I don't goof around on streets, I rarely even speed. There are a few people I know that have never been to a track and can drift well. We don't have any tracks around us, so we make do with huge parking lots in the middle of the night, or sometimes on Sundays. I don't condone drifting on the streets, and if you read through my posts I never once mentioned drifting on the street, I only said that the track isn't the only place to learn.

And let me tell you your never alone, there are always unexpected truckers, security guards, police... it is a trump card. And i did say you could learn on the street, it would just take an extremely large amount of time compared to if you put in at a track.

Wow they drag in parking lots? Thats new to me. Truck drivers roll through parking lots?? I thought they just used the streets there and docked up to the loading bays. They have drifting races? Like who could get to the end first? Thats funny because every video I see they are predominatly judged on style, length, difficulty, ect, NOT times.

Don't tell me I'm never alone, that there are security guards and cops, and people, because again you don't know the situation, so don't assume anything. You have no idea the area I live in and how many large companies I'm surrounded by. Don't assume that my friends are a bunch of kids doing donuts. You act like you know me. Oh but thats right you don't care what the situation is, you'd much rather make yourself look like an a** and tell me that you know me better than I do. You know what I do in my spare time. Keep talking out of your a**

When I mentioned him getting his liscence revoked I didn't really make myself clear (call it backpedalling if you will). What I wanted to get across (but didn't) is that he learned on the street, INITIALLY. The point I'm trying to make is that you don't need to go to a track to learn how to drift. To become some amazing pro drifter, yes you do, but to learn the basics and be able to have some fun, and do it properly, you don't need a track.

I never mentioned parking lots, i mentioned industrial areas. And there ARE security guards, no business leaves absolutely no one there after business hours. Security guards call police...etc etc. Yes truckers use parking lots, where do you think they sleep? They often park thier truck and sleep inside. Quote »Thats funny because every video I see they are predominatly judged on style, length, difficulty, ect, NOT times.
Well that is ALSO funny because every drift video i have seen takes place on a TRACK (not a parking lot) and it is an actual race, yes, invlolving times. I hear they say that a lot on trashy talk shows. Come on now 89sxRCR we all know that you can find safe parking lots to go practice in. where no sleeping truckers will be in danger. Come on man....we all see you point try to loosen up a little see Apex's.

PS. i don't know what kind of drift videos you've been watching.no drift competitions are judged on time, because drifting is obviously not the fastest way around a corner(especially on a track) so in effect drifting is judged on how extreme the drift is.how far out the rear end is, how clean it is, how long it is, how close the following car can drift to the leading car. the only thing involving drifting that "time" was a factor that i have seen,....was Initial D.....and that takes place on public roads....

Keep digging that hole. Options video I believe 82, when I get to my house I can say what one exactly. They do a drift comp with all girl teams and YUP they do it in a really large parking lot, using orange cones (kinda like an autox). Maybe you need to watch some more TV although it must be hard with your head up your ***. None involve times because drifting through a course is SLOW.

I didn't say deserted, yes there are some cops at certain areas, and sometimes there are security guards. I live right next to the largest city in New Jersey, with one of the highest crime rates. They aren't too worried about us goofing off in an EMPTY parking lot. They just say to leave. They are worried about drugs and murders, not 4 or 5 kids in a parking lot. They got street races to shut down. We obviously don't f*** around in patrolled lots, its not too hard to figure out which lots are patrolled, which are locked, which are open. By where I work there is next to no crime, so these companies DO NOT have security at night. The two cops in the town patrol at certain times in certain areas. Common sense would say if there are truckers in a lot there is no need to go there, God forbid a car slams into a tractor, or trailer. I guess you assume no one uses common sense? It actually goes a long way.

There is even a huge school lot up the street, and I know for a fact that the cops patrol at 11pm, 1 am, 3am.You were talking about industrial areas, I WASN'T, I was talking about LOTS.

And you obviously don't know me, cause I don't even go out all that often to mess around, I'm usually at home watching TV, or working. I don't go to Englishtown to watch drags, I've been to like 2 AutoXs, I haven't seen a street race in just about 2 years. So NO, you don't know me.

first out that you dont know me is getting annoying, i never claimed to know you.Quote »And you obviously don't know me, cause I don't even go out all that often to mess around, I'm usually at home watching TV, or working. My whole point with truckers is not that you would crash in to them but that you ANNOY them, and they call cops. But from what your describing you live in mayberry with sheriff Andy. The only disturbance would be gomer pyle wrecking his tractor.Ill get the names of those drift videos iv been watching, their entirely in japanese though, and yes they are RACES. I have never seen a competition of drifting. Quote »Come on now 89sxRCR we all know that you can find safe parking lots to go practice in. where no sleeping truckers will be in danger. Come on man....we all see you point try to loosen up a little see Apex's.
I think his point is that he goes out to lots in his god-forsaken town and ****s around with his buddies, and doesn't get caught. And besides, this is sooo FUN :) This whole argument started with street drifting anyways, apexi just threw in there "lots."And for anyones info, today i pick up my paper and i see in the local section two kids die racing in the abandoned part of town, lost control of his car and hit a tree, his car was torn in two. my whole point consists of one message, street drifting is wrong! That is what i have been saying, so stop bringing up the damn parking lots! When i started harping is when he said he wouldve drift raced the guy, he later said that he made a mistake. So what are you still *****ing about?! ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THAT YOU DONT DO IT ON THE STREET.

I was trying to make the point that you don't need to go to a track to learn and get good at proper techniques, and all you keep b*tching about is how you can't, and how street drifting is dangerous. And I proceed to say how there is safe ways to do it off the track, and you go and nit-pick every little f*cking detail. Not everyone is as stupid as the kid that hit your mom...

Take your Single Overhead Slut of a car and just putter along in that wonderful suburbia you call home. You said TV makes you look stupid.....like you already didn't pick the slowest, oldest 240 possible, too little, too late.

I brought out the corny you don't know me line, because you're making up senarios (sp) about people.

Im just waiting now for my friend to get back from ucla next month to help me with the install. I also own a 2000 honda superhawk 996, also known as the ducati killer. Hmm, why it looks like your the one whos lacking in the vehicle department. Tell you what, ill tell you what sub 10 second quarter mile times are like, it feels like your gonna fly off. too bad you will never experience that in ur na. My comment that drfting on a track will put you way ahead of parking lot drifters is still true also, i dont see how you can argue this.
