So I just bought a 93 vert and the headlights are doin odd stuff. Low beams the passenger side turns on but when I switch to brights the drivers side comes on and passenger goes out. I bought new bulbs and it does the same thing. They were sealed beam 7x6 lights. If I convert to the new style bulbs and get hids would it fix this problem? If not any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Check the electrical connections for that headlight. Hopefully it's something simple like a corroded terminal. It could be the headlamp switch as they tend to burn out over years of use. Sometimes you can pull the switch apart and clean it to fix some issues.

Thanks for the quick replay. There is no corrosion. Where is the headlamp switch located? Are you talking about the lever? So even if I get h4 set up and hids I still would need to fix the switch possibly?

Since you changed the halogen bulb and you have the same issue cropping up, it's something in the circuit. Putting an HID kit in won't magically fix the problem either. We have a pretty good guide on repairing the headlamp switch that you might want to read.

chances are its your headlamp switch. My s13 had the same exact symptoms you're describing. I went to the junkyard and found another headlamp switch, swapped it out, and it fixed the problem.
