Post

Ok so I've narrowed down my 2 car choices right now. I can afford a turbo car, I want a turbo car.

VR-4AWD, TT, and I already know what I'm working on since I already own a 3000GTSRT-4I have connections, can get it @ or below MSRP, cheap

VR-4 will run my about 8, SRT-4 will run me about 21. There is also the whole new vs. used car thing, but honestly, I feel a 92k mile VR-4 is still better than a brand new mopar car.

Oh yeah and my current 3000GT will be gone as of next week.

Sidenote: these are my two choices, don't bother throwing others in.

Sidenote#2: I already have a 240 (albeit not running yet)

srt-4, those things are stought, its been proven, they can hold ungodly boost on stock internals. also, its always nice to be the first owner of a car.

srt4>vr4

Didn't you just answer your own question?

I'd take the VR-4 over an SRT-4, but I honestly don't really care for either car

I would respect you if you had a VR4, I saw one run a 12.9 in houston with aftermarket wheels, intake, exhaust, no pass. seat, and a boost controller running 1 psi over stock.I would laugh at you if you drove a neon, even if you beat me.

I would rather have a vr4 because of the comfort of AWD. You can run fast in the dry, wet, and snow :D

But, srt-4 comes with warranty, so you can dog the bejeezus out of it and not worry about breaking anything....

VR-4.

I don't care what anyone says, an SRT 4 is still a damn Neon. It may be fast, but it is a Neon. All I can say, is it is a Neon. Neon Neon Neon. Go for the VR-4, it's not a Neon.

dont think that warrenty is going to do you good. a lot of stuff isnt covered under warrenty and most dealerships will void it even if you buy MOPAR parts for it. go with the VR4, they just have better sex-appeal, and face it rob, you need all the sex apples you can get.

Neon has a stock color option called "lipstick". ****ing color is "LIPSTICK" do you want to drive a lipstick colored car around ? You know the dodge symbal is the same shape as female reproductive organs too. How gay is that?

What about a GSX? I was thinking if you like the 240sx the Eclipse GSX/Talon TSI is ALOT lighter than the 3000GT wich is a ****ing pig man! I like the VR-4 plenty, but you getr what I'm saing what?

No thanks. I try to stay far away from DSMs. (Remember, I own a 3000GT already, and I've gotten to know it very well)

And no, the 3000GT isn't and never will be a DSM.

Why bother when I can just adjust the current badging to say GTO. And yes, it does look pretty hot.

THe VR4 is heavy (like 3800lbs). But you already have a 3000GT so I'm sure you'll be more comfortable working on that car. How long would you keep your SRT4 warranty intact anyway?...And GT0 (GT zero) is not quite JDM!

haha, yeah, apples, they're good for more than just keeping the dentist away and making teachers like you....

and i thought VR4s weighed a little less. you can always convert a lot of the "special features" to the lower model stuff and save a LOT of weight.

VR-4's tend to weigh around 3760...my sl doesn't weigh much less.

And no, sorry. If I get the VR-4, nothing is coming out of it. I'm too used to lots of power amenities (digital climate control will be a must for my S13 now). ECS is a must on that car, so is active aero.4 wheel steering...maybe that can come out.

edit: On second though...I think I'll keep 4ws as well:pface

I say nitrous+turbo upgrade+boost controller will take care of that. I'm not looking for a 10 second car here, but I do want it to be pretty quick.

i think the SRT4 is pushing like 12psi stock on a small turbo thats welded into the manifold, which means turbo upgrades will require a new manifold AND turbo AND wastegate. the engine isnt too bad though, its pretty stout, but dont waste your time Rob.

If you like the VR-4 and working on it yourself isn't an issue, I'd say the benefits of the warranty on the SRT-4 aren't really that big of a deal anyway. Besides, like some others have said...it's possible that the dealership will try to screw you out of warranty work for even the most simple of mods.

Can a VR-4 in good condition be found for $8K? That's not bad at all.
