So my battery light and e-brake light started flickering the other day and my interior lights and headlights were flickering as well. Another day passes and my car doesnt start after work. So i charged my battery and reinstalled it and watched my volt gauge. As soon as I started it, the gauge only read like 11 volts. So I was in a hurry to get home cause I thought the battery was gonna go out on me, I was on a quiet street and dropped to second and floored it thru 4th. When I let off of the gas to my surprise my battery light was off and my battery was reading 12 volts like normal. Now my battery light only comes on occasionally, and when it does my volt gauge is reading high 14 volts. My guess is the voltage regulator for the altenator. Are they internal on the sr altenator? Has anyone had this problem before?

Ive been dealing with a similar issue for some time now, lack of time and will has kept me from fixing it. From what I have found, the voltage reg is an internal unit.

I would suggest checking the connections on your alternator, if they are all tight, replacing it would be the next logical step.

you can use the ka, the bolt hole has to be drilled out slightly for clearance. not sure about the sohc ka

single cam alt will work fine, Ive used both, and both require minor mods.

I had the same flickering issue for a few days, it means you alt is on its last legs. Mine died on me 2 miles from home, so I had to hoof it through some super sketch neighborhood, fun times
