okay so the other day my car got impounded for being parked on a street where you cant be parked from 2-6am and i went out to the city and didnt get back in time so my car was gone when i got back, anyway my car is slammed so in the process of being towed these idiots f*ucked my car up my stillen fascia i all chipped and cracked on the lip and almost detatched all together. Of course the towing company isnt at fault as there was "no criminal intent" and the useless police officers that showed up said the same thing. so now im left with a messed up bumper and dont want to spend anothr 500 to repaint this damn bumoer.

So now im going to vinyl wrap my whole car, i got this idea from a friend who vinyl wrapped his 350z for under 300 and did the work himself and it came out flawless. i would rather do this because it doesnt depreciate the value of the car as a paint job would and it would protect my paint at the same time. If i ver get sick of it i can just rip it off and for me it just makes sense with the direction i want to go with my car. So now i know i want a matte/flat color and im torn between black and grey. i have to behonest im leaning towards the grey i think it will look good with my flat black wheels. let me know what u guys think

ok umm... the amount of vinyl ur gna need is gna be phenomenal. and you are also going to need to do 1 exterior body panel at a time. its tedious and you NEED patience. and a hairdryer haha. and in all honesty- i had a offer to get just the bottom half of my car vinyld and it was about 1200 bucks... so... if u can do it for 300, jump on that shiznitzle. just realize its gna take time

and on a side note- go black :)

Beautiful idea if you can pull it off man. Makes the impound situation kind of bitter sweet because you probably would not have thought to do this otherwise. definately go matte or flack black with matte or flat black rims.

Not sure what the means, anyway my friend got a good deal on a lot of vinyl and did all the work himself, took him a week and he would do a panel a day, it will be a good project and if it doesnt work out which I don't see why it wouldn't, I'll just put my stock bumper on and sell the stillen

I was considering this and I don't know what happened. I just kinda forgot about it. I really like the idea. I think the flat black would look sick with your rims. And yeah the stillen front fascia was real cheap today. I got the whole kit for 870 shipped.

Dude sounds like a sick idea... I like the dark dark grey that would be sick! How about a matte white??? Can you get some figures for me??? Cause $300 for a complete job would be sick!!! But I dont know if I would have the patients for that..

Another idea instead of dropping $1500 at a Vinyl shop would be to hit up a local tint shop talk to one of the guys and pay him $20/hr under-the-table you could definitely get it done pretty cheap!

Anyone have any idea how much Vinyl we would need.... Im toying with the matte white with and changing the top my spoiler to black....

it means that 300 covers a small part of your car and the price is unbelievable, if true

ok guys so i decided im gonna go with the matte grey but it will be a bit darker than the color pictured on the ferrari. Im gonna try to do it in january over my winter break since i am away at school right now. i will buy the vinyl in two weeks though. My friend is gonna help me and he advised to isolate the panels and remove them which ever ones i can to make it a bit easier and whatever i find to difficult i will get professionally installed. im thinking the stillen fascia will be tough but im gonna seperate it becasue its two parts maybe that will help, either way im gonna take a crack at it. and im also gonna make the roof matte black to compliment my matte black wheels. thanks guys for your input and ill keep this thread posted on whatever progress im making

The first headache is finding out how much vinyl to order and in what sizes... When you need a 60" wide piece they really knock you on it.

I would really like to see pics of the process, successful or not!
