Actually, I have alot more faith, personally, in a plan framework, thats willing to adjust for realities, than a drilled down, zero budge specified plan, that ends up in a "my way or the highway" mentality. I realize both sides congressionally have this attitude in regards to the current tax cuts.

This is why I like Herman Cain so much. He did not get specific on ANYTHING really. He dwelled more in the reality that once he gets there, his own preconceived notions would be challenged by revealed realities, and that was the time to get specific and handle things.

A framework, or a direction, at least for me, is more appealing than a solid set of mathmatical figures, especially coming from the challenger. The incumbent is privy to and advantage in specifics, if hes straightforward with the facts. The challenger has to think on his feet a bit more, because his/her plan is not as privy to specifics. And I mean this broadly, not just on fiscal matters, but on all issues, foreign policy especially.

The only way the math will add up is if ALL of the tax loopholes that the "wealthy" (R&R's terms, not mine or Obama's) take advantage of are on the table. You can't fully expect that they're going to shut down the investment interest loophole.. they've got to get the money from somewhere.

Plus, I don't agree with not letting everything go through with the sequestration. The House and the Senate had a fcsking job to do in 2011, and they didn't do it in the 3 months they had.. the punishment was sequestration for their transgression. That's like telling a kid that he will get grounded if he steals cookies from the cookie jar, you then later CATCH him getting cookies, and then you say: "Oh, well, I guess grounding is a little too harsh. Don't ever do that again!" It doesn't work that way. They knew the consequences and STILL didn't come to an agreement.. hell, they could've just followed the Gang of 6 proposal (which I fervantly supported) and been 90% of the way to a balanced budget, but NOOOOO.

They won't understand how good they have it until they end up losing it.

I'm pretty sure the "math" adds up better if you include closing loop holes, cutting programs and account for economic revenue rising via job creation. If you only use loop holes then I don't see it adding up either.

The most important part is creating jobs.

I'm with you on the total failure of Congress. They shouldn't be receiving a paycheck until a balanced budget is signed and "we the people" will just f*** deal with whatever it is, tax increases and entitlement benefits are going to have to be on the table. I'll support tax increases if they are accompanied by spending cuts. The people of America will just have to suck it up in the process. It's our own fault for turning a blind eye and allowing these idiots to do whatever they pleased for the last 15 friggin years.

The fools in DC, all of them, need to quit spending. No more "training seminars" that spend/waste money, that s*** needs to be met with jail time imho. Sit down at your desk and log into Skype, it's free.

Tax increases for who and which spending cuts? Romney won't tell us

How about the carried interest loophole
Nothing mentioned about that

How do you reduce the budget deficit without raising taxes and explaining in detail exactly what programs you intend to cut.

Ryan when asked about math and arithmetic said he didn't have the time to explain.
The math doesn't add up. Don't forget, they reduce the deficit without raising taxes AND increase defense spending. Reaganomics only worked in the 80's.

You could give Ryan an academic semester with Ross Perot running the flip charts and pointing and he couldn't explain it because it simply doesn't add up any which way.

They do and they are right. It got Obama elected. "hope" "change" ;)

I agree, but one point for those that fondly remember the success of Reaganomics. It might have jumpstarted the economy, but many tend to overlook that it tripled the decifit during Reagans terms.

I don't forget that, but I agree, most either don't know, don't show or don't care about what's going on in the economy.

I haven't logged on in a lllloooonnnnggg time. This side used to have more traffic. Anyway, Biden made Ryan look like a dad spanking his know-it-all son. I enjoyed every last bit of it. I really enjoyed when Biden called out Ryan for asking for stimulus money....you know one of the things that he is so against. The party of whine stooped to a new low, even degrading and calling the moderator names. Now when romney is a bull, interrupting the moderator, he is a great debater and no complaints from Faux News. When bret baier of Faux News is on record for being a rude jerk for continuous interrupting the President while he is trying to answer, it's no problem. But when Biden does it, then the party of whine starts crying. Please! You know Biden won the debate when Faux News can only report on Biden's smile, teeth, laugh INSTEAD of substance.

Looking forward to tonight.
