VH45DE oil pan design..

With the scrapes and dings on my Q's oil pan, and what appears to be a section where it was welded back together, there's no way I'd ever drop it.

The way it was explained to me by Infiniti service is that the clearance between the pickup and the bottom of the pan is so little that any damage to the bottom of the pan seriously risks starving the engine of oil.

This is true.. ever notice that little round part on the bottom of the oil pan? Yeha, you guessed it, its right there.
