My name is bristol, im new to nico club and the world of swaps. Right now im in the process of putting my vh45 in my 1993 s13 hatch. Iv got everything I need to set the engine in the car but im curious about small things. My valve cover is hitting the break booster, its covered in wires(what do I need to move/hide /delete), most of my egr is gone or sealed off but the vacuum cluster at the front of the engine is still there and Idk what I can take off. Any help on the swap would be awsomr! I can't find much about it because not alot of ppl have done it.

We put it in my bro's kouki. Where you see the red is the gap inbetween the booster and valve cover. Sorry for the s*** pic, i emailed the pic to myself and it compressed it and i was just too lazy to do it again lol but there is a good 1 1/2 clearance there.

Mazworks did the wiring harness but there wasnt any deleted wires out of the harness so basically all that is involved is fixing the lower harness at the fuse box and then on the passenger side kick panel where the ecu is.

The engine was cleaned up using a degreaser and the high temp engine paint(grey/silver) and then the valve covers were done in wrinkle black.

I was talking about the wires stretching across the valve cover and the egr vacume control on the front of the driver side valve cover. How do I hide that? And I have a s14 brakebooster at my house im gonna try on so Mabey it will clear! Thanks for the pic! What does mazworth do to the harness when you send it off? I was curious about the fuse box, I was just gonna straight wire it

Not real sure on the ends and outs with the harness. He got the kouki already swapped with a VH. We swapped the motor with a new because of a bearing fail but this car was actually mazworks personal car, when you go to the website and look at the VH swap parts. This is the car you see in all the pictures, pretty cool i guess but anyways the harness could had been modified in some way from them because there is not one issue we came across when we swapped the motor out. It was almost like everything was meant to be there beside the driver side header install.

There is no EGR system on the motor, mazworks flashed the ecu.

Did you have to take the front end apart to slide the engine in?

No we just dropped it in with the motor hoist. It was pretty easy though but man was that driver side header a pain. we bolted the passenger on before we dropped it in but because of the steering column we had to bolt the driver up afterwards and it wasnt the easiest thing to do.

Read my thread for some ideas. Good luck with your swap, it's very rewarding! I am in the process of producing an intake plenum for the VH that will clear the OEM hood. I'll be gauging interest here in a couple weeks.

Well just an update. I got my trans but it didn't cone with a starter or a shifter so I gotta get that and I have to find a flywheel. I dont think I can start out with a lightweight because I kinda blew my money on everything else lol. So I'm looking to buy a OEM 300zx flywheel but other then that I need a drive shaft. 2 major things right now. Every time I look at my engine bay I see the wires and poo a little bit.... but I will figure it out! Speed, what do u need to have to do it for me. Also what wires do I need to use for the starter to the alternator? Do I use the by wires from the vh or the 300zx? Also are shifters interchangeable? I have a couple Nissan shifters laying around at the shop.

I would need both the KA harness and the VH harness you plan to use shipped to me. I create the jumper from the KA harness to fit your VH harness. As for the starter, it's pretty much plug and play. I'm pretty sure the starter wiring that's already in place fits properly. I ran a new supply wire from the battery to the starter though because my old one was in bad shape. The alternator wiring is in the KA harness, and the power wire from that just routes back to the battery as well. The KA wire for the alternator is the large White one. I reused that. As for starter to alternator, there's nothing. I would get a 300zx specific shifter, most of them aren't the same.

I offer the option of having a jumper harness, $190

or having the VH harness modified to fit with no jumper necessary, $250

In either case, I need the KA and VH harnesses shipped to me. You can send me the other small engine harnesses that connect to the transmission, power accessories, injectors, and knock sensors and I'll refresh them for you. Let me know, I can have it back to you around 10 days after you send it to me.

A jumper is just like the one Mazworx offers. No modification to the VH harness, you have to run two harnesses through the firewall. It just converts the VH harness to the KA car. I can also just mod the VH harness to work instead. It's a bit more work, the install is a little easier. It looks a little cleaner. The only downfall is that you can only use it in a 240sx.

You can probably source the 240 harness from a junkyard. All I need from it are connectors, so any s13 will do.
