you could just get your tach recalibrated or order a universal unit like this one from Dakota Digital http://www.dakotadigital.com/i...7.htm

I'm in the middle of selling my house. So swap is scrapped for now.As soon as I"m in a new house I'm building a shed in the back. Just to work on cars. Hopefully we just move into another house and we jsut build a garage. Swap is still planned to go.Got everything I need to make the swap happen...hopefully

I dont know for a fact and it might not be a good idea but I would just use the VG engine harness and get the tach recalibrated like the guy said earlier; maybe the lsauto.com gauges that they make for RB swaps (I mean hey they are 6 cylinders arent they???) could work on the VG.....But thats just my 2 cents and I could be wrong but atleast I am tryin to help right??? not: And by the way, what all did you buy for the swap and how much did all of the stuff cost? I also think that lsauto.com recalibrate tacs and speedometers for universal 6 cylinders also.........

Haven't started yet. Just got money set aside and did rough cost estimates. I got all the tools except for a welder which I will be buying soon. Don't know abotu driveshaft though. Most likely will have to have one made.$400 Think I'm going to go auto just because It will be used more of a dragster. And end goal will be high hp.And you can't shift faster than an auto.My Ka-t will be my 5spd fun car.The day I move to my new house the VG gets ordered

Ah that ETA is for my KA-T. In the process of moving right now and building a house. House should be built by the first of the year. As soon as house is built I'm ordering the vg30dett. Should only take me 2 weeks to build a barn so perfect timing Got the car ready to go and funds ready as well. Just would be pointless to start fabing and then have to box everything up for 3-5months. Boxing everything up now to move.I'm goign to NOPI this year so focused on getting my KA-T ready.I'll start a new thread when the project takes off. Be around the 1st of the year.

This is an interesting thread. I have quite a few buddies putting SR20DETs into the 240SX but I have yet to hear of a VG30DETT... I'd like to see that finished product. The VG30DETT barely fits in my Z much less a 240...good luck

There is a kit made for 240's now. Cost $1500 but will save me the headache. So going to order 1 engine set and then one longblock. Drop it in and have fun... Going to tear apart the longblock and get it fully worked.Going to go in my vert and get mild upgrades. run maybe 12psi 15psi max. Keeping auto transmission.Project hatch is still waiting for a title so it might become a dirt track car....

Assuming that you already sold the house and moved in to the new one, have you considered simply devoting atleast 7 hours a week on the car, thatway by the time your in full time for the project, you'll have some of the stuff done and you can spend more time on getting to know the power and everything that is on perfect.

Either getting it from my local source who get's wrecked cars. Or from one of our sponsors, jdmonline or jhot Right now I'm renting a house and they wouldn't like my vert halway taken apart. However I am sellign my tahoe and my box truck. So I should have 6k after those sell Therefore I can have all the tools I need and I could maybe do the swap in 2weeks... As it is right now Planning for a Feb-march beginning date. n the process of building a house and building a shop outback.

Guess where I am, Florida240SX? I'm in Bahrain where 'that guy' is. His name is Dale and I should be meeting with him sometime this week. My hatch will be over here soon, and I'm going to have him do the swap here at his shop. I want to have the VG bored out to maybe 3.5, but like you, I plan to leave it auto. I want the Twist Machine paddle-shifter.
