I think they're neat, make any car pretty unique, and score high on the good general WOW scale.

I've seen pics of a few coupe already with them (...yes including the COUPE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED).

So without taking cost into the decision, what do you think?

Ok, I want to ask a part two to the Poll. If you don't like them, is it partly to do with the fact that they are a little played out where you're from?

Where I'm from these doors are few and far between. but I'm sure If I saw different every month or so The cool might wear off.

It's a lot more than just the looks. For me, personally, I think it's a little too over the top.

Also, Doc has posted several times (he had them on his last car) stating that they are just impractical for a daily driver. People try to get in pulling out like they normally would and it won't work. Just lots of little things that add up to them being more of a nuisance than a benefit.

If you really feel it go for it... but remember the footsteps you're following: Tribal decals, chrome altima on the dash, fake nas, flip switch for neon lights....

They are few doors around here, but I think it attracts way too much attention then needed. I'd rather go low and classy with mods, than something that heavy. I love Back to the Future, but I don't want go beyond how stylish the A/C is already.

Yes the disappearing car door looks amazing, but there goes the airbag :p

I don't mind them and they definitely do not "ruin" a car like so many people here seem to think. It all depends on the angle that the brackets allow them to go up at for me.

The shaved handles don't look very clean in that video. But I do like it's potential.

That hiding door thing is cool, but doesn't look very safe and rigid.

For the record, Lambo doors are not something I'd get (because of cost mostly). But the magic touch is. I've wanted to shave to handles and I've seen doors that pop open with a fob, but needing two fobs would be the deal breaker.

Magic touch is something I'd actually be interested in

other option would be to check with KP Technologies, but I doubt thats somthing they'd be into.

Ive actually been giving alot of thought to shaving my handles and been talking with some friends who do alot of customizing about seeing if we can keep the door lock sensors that are already on the door and use them to pop the doors. that way itll be like the rest of the car the keyd have to be within a certain range for it to work. but theres alot of other stuff i really wanna do first so no idea when or if im actually gunna do it. just an idea ive been having since i bought the car.

This is kind of off topic but someone mentioned the gull wing doors from a delorean so I had to mention this.

I saw a Scion XA in the parking lot of a Burger King a few weeks ago and they had converted the rear doors to gull wing doors. The fantastic part were the door hinges they used to make it work. No joke, full on gate/door hinges sticking up in the roof. It was hilarious. I felt bad because the guy parked next to me and saw me staring at his car and was all proud to open the door. Then I started laughing. I just couldn't keep it inside. It would have been cool/respectable if it was done cleanly but they full on used door hinges. I just couldn't get over it.

Then watching him practically body slam the door just to shut it because the alignment was so bad was just icing on the cake.

I wish I had pictures. I wanted to take some with my phone but I already felt like a jerk for laughing at him. Taking pictures would have been too mean.

LOL take them while he was in BK, and if you did take them infront of him, that would of taught him never to do such a ****ty mod again.

I'm still curious as to how a few little brackets "ruin" a car?

You know that it's not that tough of a mod to do yourself and it's pretty easy to switch back to original factory brackets.. right?

If people want to do it to their car and they like the mod - I doubt it's ruining the vehicle in their minds.

Some of them probably think we're ruining our cars by putting eye-lids, ect. on them as well. Guess it's a two-way street.

Are you seriously comparing eye lids to lambo doors? Have you ever owned or even seen lambo doors on a vehicles. It is NOT the same thing, it is NOT a simple mod, and it DOES ruin your car and it is NOT easy to go back to factory brackets.

1st. The good kits require a lot of precise measuring and WELDING of a bracket to your vehicle (Ruin #1)

2nd. You must cut the door hinge that slides into and out of your door when opening to the side (Ruin #2)

3rd. To close the door, it goes down and then in, however, there is no level plane on which to swing the door in on, thus the door can come down too much, or not enough, being off by only about .5 inch or so. When that happens, you will bang your door on the little bracket that engages the lock mechanism, the end result is A LOT of dings around where the door is supposed to close (Ruin #3)

Usually, its a good idea to refrain from making claims regarding something you have no personal experience with.

LAMBO DOORS ARE A BAD IDEA ON A DAILY DRIVEN CAR... PERIOD!
