I would really love vertical doors, but I also think about the functionality of them on a daily driver

u know generaly dyno's tell u whp, because who cares about hp to the crank?? it doesnt mean a thing, it means u can estimate your whp. so why would u bother stating you dyno'd the car and got 490hp to the crank, i mean honestly man do you know anything about actual car talk? have u ever been to a meet or a track?? so 637 hp did u say?? so about 530ish wheel or less??? so in other words yea any real car would eat you alive. i know s2k's and corrolla's with more whp than u do, so why dont u sell the car to someone that will make it really worth while if you really have this car that is, or just go race an built up svt and get yank city instead of u racing vipers that dont know that you guys are racing, see your the type of guy that gives domestic drivers a bad name, u might be a nice cool guy that id invite over for a super bowl party but as far as cars go u sound like rice why dont u go ahead and throw up a mod list so we can hear how your making this hp, or u go get a dyno chart of your car and post it up so we can say your whp, what are u doing in an altima section of a nissan infiniti forum anyway??

Well after a couple of days thinking about it and checking out the lambo door kits on youtube, I find the mechanism a little akward looking and it doesn't seem as cool a a true murceliago door opening. I tought someone would have already invented a true Diagonally opening mechanism that would be compatible with the OEM one. I have my little idea as of how I'd do it for our car. One day I'll make some custom vertical doors with an elegant and simple mechanism that wouldn't alter the normal way of opening the door at all. Untill then, I don't think I'll buy the same vertical door hinge as Mr.Lane. but mark my words, I'll have some vertical doors one day

First thing i have to say is wow can't believe ppl are flaming this kid for getting Vertical doors...

It looks nice on the car. I havent heard anyone say that it doesnt lok nice (Read through half the second page then got bored/pissed)...

The doors look great... I'm not gonna put it on my car cause I'd rather drop $2k on the turbo but that me.. Also i haven't seen anyone ask MrLane if he wants to make his car a show car or if he plans on stripping the interior for a full blown race car... His money, his choice...

Doors look nice man...

Whoa buddy who are you? No one is flaming him. People are just giving there opinions of the doors. No ones insulting him for his efforts. Relax, no need to be a hero.

Also no one asked him if hes gonna make a "full blown race car" because this is a vertical doors thread. How many track/drag cars do you know with vertical doors?

wow im so suprised by this thread.... i could see this is like a 240sx forum or a civic forum...cause the altima coupe forums are usually "older" people (im not old...turning 18 in 2 weeks!!!!)

i rarely see flaming threads like this on nico!

come on, its lambo doors...its on his car, his doors... im sure as long as he likes it, he doesnt really care about what people say

from what most of you guys post, i can tell you guys are mature...but damn i cant believe this flaming from you guys! i thought only those civic forums do that lol

I don't really see how this is a flaming thread...

Ive seen flaming threads before. Its where a bunch of people go on and on about how something you did sucks so bad that everyone hates it. Only a few people actually came out and said something to the extent of "your doors suck". His doors are fine and his project. 85% of the posts on this thread, about his doors, are positive.

Remember, they weren't telling you they they suck but what to expect in the long term... personally I appreciate that advice... I was kinda thinking about the mod... but for now I'm gonna hold off.

And I agree w/ the whole... "I'm driving a coupe with lambo doors and nitrous because I'm single and I can and I'm not a soccer mom/dad!" :P Enjoy your cars in your youth while you can. You can't go back when you're too old and creaky to get down into a low ride and really enjoy it.

My dad wanted a Mercedes ... for whatever reason... probably to show off... but he waited too long... was too cheap (but he could have afforded it) ... and when his eyesight started to go... it was too late. And he passed away fairly early too (62).

No regrets people! Do what you want and enjoy your rides!

Mehdi, are you still getting verticals?

And man, I`ve never seen so many people try to defend their position why they think vertical doors are bad.

Hilarious.

actually i'll partly agree with this since when vertical doors inc 1st open they were workin on a lot of rice rockets and they'll admit to it.. but now a days they work mainly on higher end cars and hardly get any of those rockets in

the day i drop mine off they had an Aston Martin Parked outside that had just got some doors installed
i just read your comment there and sorry to say i dont think i am going to get them installed unfourntnataly i already bought them and cant return them but i can save myself the 1500 on the install and the laundry list of damage that is gonna happen to that door and striker plate and what else..... but it looks so cool!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!well i have to make a big boy choice do i want cool ness for a while and a problems down the road and my car losin value or keep it the way it is with out the awesome doors and save my money and still have a awesome car free of bent doors and others stuff.... i only wish the guy who sold the stuff at vertical inc would of told me he told me he has had them for over three years on his car that he uses every single day and has not had one problem with anything but that the way the would it thanks
