Thanks dex!

So I walked out to warm my vert up for a bit and let it run, and I hear a rattling noise. I look and my exhaust is on the ground damn it.

Yeah NC rocks! I can ride with the top down from March to late June then Sept to late October-early Nov. (July and Aug is just too damn hot...even with AC). And sometimes you can drop the top a few days in Dec. like this month . I'll go topless a lot more once I fix my passenger quarter window...once I roll it down it's a bit*h to get back up. But back to NC, I can be in N. Myrtle Beach at my families beach place in 2 hours and in the mountains in 3. I agree with cmkelly, I don't like the NC coast as much as the mountains, but the SC coast rocks.

You know...this is a BS thread so...I was thinking of something the other day.I was driving to work, in my vert, as I've done since last Dec. (I started driving it cause of the gas prices, my Expedition was killing my wallet.) I drive my vert everyday and everywhere now. But back to my point. I was thinking, every time I get ready for work...I just can't wait to leave, why, because I get to drive my car. When my shift ends at work I can't wait to leave, not because I don't like my job, cause I love it. It's because I get to drive my car again. I make reasons to leave the house at any hour just so I can drive my car...no...I'm not a 16 year old that just got my license, I'm a 37 year old that just feels that way (38 in a few weeks). This car is so fun to drive and work on, it really makes me feel like a high school kid again.

So since this is a bs thread.. I had a question some of the vets or the mods could help me with. I have been learning a lot about my vert on this forum and thought I might be able to learn about my 300. I have an 86 300zx that is having some problems with the digital dash and I couldn't find a forum on NICO for the z31 300zx to possibly search for a thread or post my own.. maybe I am just looking in the wrong place. Can someone put me in the right direction?

I think he's talking about the HUD. It projects your (current speed?) onto the windshield. Heads Up Display.

Ah, didn't think of that. For clarification, this is what the HUD does:

How reliable are the HUD and digital cluster? I wanted to get one, but heard some bad stuff about them.

The HUD is not a problem at all. The digital speedo goes out on some clusters. A lot have had them go out and really the only good way to get them to work is replace them. I had mine go out on my old coupe in '99 or so, but replaced it with a new one from the factory and haven't had any problems on it since (its now swapped into my current coupe, because when I bought it the dig speedo was out). Issue is, now they don't make the new OEM cluster parts to replace it with, at least not that I know of.

I love the dig/HUD, but not sure I'd ever want to swap the Vert to it due to the hassle if it goes out. Its just the tach in the center of the cluster is much better to me.

While driving down I-5, my exhaust decided it wanted to seperate itself from the muffler, and to drag on the ground. So I said screw it, Im going back to stock exhaust. No more scraping, no more louddddd annoying sound, and no more complaining mom =]

Learned that the hard way on my coupe battery. Had a charger but forgot that it wasn't mine and had returned it to an uncle. Finally had to go buy one last week. But very good deals at Sears on them.

Got some SPL FLCAs yesterday, but they are going on the coupe. But the good news is the new(er) OEM FLCAs/balljoints/Whiteline bushings will be swapped to the Vert from the Coupe.
