iluvmyVersa08: Doesn't your key has a remote for opening the doors? And when you open/close the doors, don't you hear the car's horn?
Because if you do, that's the alarm system. At least here in Panama, mostly all cars have that system now. If the car is forced to start without the original key, or something similar, the car will start doing an alarm with the horn. It's the stock alarm.
In my case I got for free an additional alarm, which is the classic one that make noises for every vibration, etc. etc...

Yes we have that but that is just keyless entry. Over here keyless entry includes power door locks (with access from the remote) and when we lock all the doors the horn honks. But that is not an alarm. That just tells you that the doors are locked.We do not have an option here for an alarm. An alarm will sound if someone tries to open the door/break in. Keyless entry is not an alarm (at least not here). The aftermarket I got from the dealer for free can even talk... Hehe... I think is very useful when doors are not locked properly, etc. After locking with the remote, it would say "Please, close the doors completely"... Also, when the alarm was activated, when I open the doors it says "The car was impacted"... Some people don't like it, but I do like it, a lot!

Ya I think you have an alarm.
Here in Ontario, when I purchased my Versa, I bought it fully loaded (w/ every available option). An alarm was not available from the factory, and right now it's not something on the top of my list. I park in the garage at home and I don't think many people want to steal a car decked out in Hello Kitty paraphernalia! haha!
