Was thinking back on all the clunkers I've owned over the years as I enjoyed my ride this morning, and began to list them. What good is a list if you can't share?

61 Pontiac Catalina (rod through the engine on the highway, 1975)

pontiac grand am (somewhere in the 80's) - hand me down beater from my brother

1984 ford bronco II (another old beater, no radio, cracked windshield, and engine blew - twice) (5sp)

1987 buick regal (yet another beater. rearended someone and messed up the radiator - wasn't worth fixing) (auto)

1997 dodge dakota (bought new, traded in when gas started hitting $2/gal because I had a long commute and it only got 17mpg) (5sp)

1997 vw jetta (bought with 65k mileage, got $488 credit on my versa because it had 202k miles at time of trade-in) (5sp)

List of cars that I've driven

ALL Acura's, I've driven probably every Acura from every year on it from the old ugly Acura 3.2's to the legendary NSX.

I probably driven over a 100 different kinds of 240sx's with different mods from each and everyone of them, from 240's that were falling apart to 240's that ran 12 seconds. Drove a few right hand drive cars too...of course for people that are into imports still probably see a RHD everyday.

The trades were either straight across [the Fairlaine (which blew up two weeks after because it had a bad fuel pump -- and he knew it did!] for the VDub, or the cars were at the end of their life so after negotiations I said "give me wholesale on the _____", and they did . . . so I didn't lose but neither did the dealer (as if they would).

86 Honda Civic DX Hatchback - my grandfather and I purchased it as a totalled vehicle, rebuilt it and salvaged the title. I ran the wheels off of it and junked it.

82 Toyota Corolla SR5 Coupe - exact same description as above, purchased after the Civic was junked.

00 Mazda Protege 1.6 LX Sedan - My first "real" car... I loved this car but I was young and dumb. After a few wrecks and running the wheels off of it, it ended up at the wrecking yard as well.

06 Chevrolet HHR LT1 - I hated this car from the day I bought it. Although it had nice qualities, such as great gas mileage and useful cargo space, it was an entry level GM product and could be described better as a Chevy Cobalt Wagon.

07 Nissan Versa SL Hatchback - my current car (and the first car I bought new).

08 Nissan Rogue - Purchased a few months back when the HHR was traded in.

'85 mazda glc 2 dr hatch - bought in '91. easy on gas, got nice body and paint work done, changed stereos a few times. a girl in an old VW bug plowed into it as she was reaching down for her pack of smokes.

'85 mazda 626 sedan - bought in '93. replaced the glc (but not in my heart). needed a car to get to school, it was decently nice. got broken into twice for stereo systems that i got at the swap meet. blown head gasket, not worth fixing.

'89 nissan hardbody (or D21, whatever preference) reg cab - bought in '97 from my company. replaced the 626. my first m trans vehicle, consistently got 24-25 mpg. got tired of helping people move house all the time, nowhere to put groceries and stuff when it rains or out shopping. sold after buying the next one...

'04 nissan sentra 1.8s - bought in '03. my first brand new vehicle. my first car with power accessories, working a/c. got good mileage, joined a local B15 car club, put in a leather interior kit myself. car was good except for recurring brake light switch problem. traded in for...

'08 nissan versa SL - bought (barely in) '07. back to getting a hatch, "the circle is now complete".

93 mercury tracer hand-me-down, already had 100k+. Summer 97 to fall 98, developed coolant problem, started vaporizing some nasty sh*t into the passenger compartment, then cracked the block, whoops. Donated to charity and used the proceeds as down payment on...98 pontiac sunfire coupe, brand new at the end of the model year close-outs. Toward the end it was a pretty rough ride, and my front wheels felt "loose", traded in towards08 versa SL HB. So far so good, I guess.

i have the shortest list of all of you...1993 Chevy Cavalier.... exhaust was almost falling out, entire back end was rusted, brake lines rotted out while in a parking lot (THANK GOD)... it was givin to me by my stepdad who paid 500 bucks for it and probably another 700 into it...but once the brakes rotted out, my grandparents didnt want me driving it so they bought me my 2007 Nissan Versa S... which im extremely happy with, especially with my new sound system =]]

could shoot my dad for trading his 64 and a half mustang for a 70 fairlane.he ordered the 64 and a half new in 64 and was the second one here where i live.get the feeling that car is the reason im here lol!once i got into cars i could not believe he got rid of that car!
