In about '85 I met a guy with a similar sad story.Demonspawn wrote:could shoot my dad for trading his 64 and a half mustang for a 70 fairlane.he ordered the 64 and a half new in 64 and was the second one here where i live.
His mother-in-law had bought a 65 'stang off the lot new and kept is (as only a lady who hardly drove and had money could: go in for an oil dhange and come out with new tires and a full tuneup as well). My friend drooled over this car (who wouldn't?) -- immaculate hardly touched the condition.
A couple of weeks before I met him he showed up at his mother-in-law's hous . . . no car. he asked, she said that someone had offered her a thousand dollars for it and she took it -- after all, the car was 20 years old!
My friend almost cried every time he told the story
