I think that's tasteful...

However, I'd rather not see plates that advertise a person's desire to "show the other driver's up." It's a bit juvenile.

My friend saw a C5 once with a license plate that said "2 TRBO"

He said it was racing a Diablo and an F50 on the highway. My friend was doing 80mph and he said those 3 cars nearly blew him off the road. He estimated they were doing 175-200 mph.

Lingenfelter makes a twin turbo setup for C5's that, although expensive ($50K upgrade), makes a disgusting amount of power. LPE C5 By the way, there a much faster vettes out there...costing far less money; just thought I'd display the upper end of the market.

If it works, here is a video of a twin turbo C5 absolutely leaving a Viper on the 1/4 mile...if memory serves, it ran a 9.76 at 145 mph...besides the engine, it is a stock vehicle.

Twin Turbo C5

Chris Konikowski, owner of Speed Demon Motorsports, Houston, TX shot the footage. I was able to get a closer at this particular Corvette when it was in the shop.

As for the license plate on the vette you saw...sounds like a guy who feels a bit insecure. Needs a license plate to show others that his C5 is better than theirs...wishes he had either the Diablo or the F50 (who wouldn't).

Your friend has one hell of an eye! It would be nearly impossible for me to recognize 3 vehicles moving at more than double my speed, let alone read a license plate! ;)

Well I don't care how fast an F50 flies by you, you recognize it. Same goes with the Diablo. As for the C5, it was in the back, and my friend said he had to strain to read the license plate as it quickly vanished.

Oh, and on a side note. My friend who saw it works at a Mazda dealership which is about a mile away from a Ferrari dealership. He said he's seen that F50 around where he works a lot. Apparently it belongs to the guy who owns the Ferrari dealer. So that made the rare car easily recognizable for my friend.
