Started at my new job today and it all went great....except for when this 2005 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 came in around closing time...first off, I just want to say f*** ALL OF FORD. Every damn Ford I touch it's like the f*** plague. Anyways, I was removing the wheels/tires to balance them and the first thing that went wrong, my 21mm Harbor Freight impact socket cracked when trying to remove one of the wheels. This was the first time I used the socket; only bought it because I was broke. So it didn't even last me 5 minutes. Harbor Freight sucks at anything that should be expensive. They make decent cheap stuff for even cheaper, but expensive stuff, they can't even compare. Anyways, I found another socket and finished taking the wheels off.
All the tires had some serious cupping on them, and they were all at least 3, and up to 6.5 ounces out of balance on either side. WTF did this guy do to his tires??????
Anyways I did what I could balancing them and put them all back on, then lowered the truck a little to torque the lugnuts properly (150 ft/lbs) and one of the studs in the front broke. This was like 5 mins after we closed so I couldn't do anything about it because all the parts stores were closed, and we had to close too...but the customer didn't mind that bad anyways. He's gonna come back to get it fixed another time. But it just sucks, breaking s*** on my first day. I followed procedure and everything; idk what happened. But my manager wasn't there, and he gets there before me tomorrow which also sucks. Ah what a great way to wrap up my first day at my new job
