Did you get your car back yet? Any updates for us????
Nay. Called the shop today and Keith couldn't come to the phone. I was told that he was under my hood. I'd love to sit and watch, even hand him various tools while picking his brain about Q's and general auto mechanics. But he's so busy. I barely got to talk to him and I spent close to 5 hours at the shop on Tuesday. He's very busy.

But I was told that I'd be able to pick the Q up tomorrow (Friday) probably after 5. He's putting in the NICO ECU as well so I may be in for a nice surprise when I get back behind the wheel. I've been on "house-arrest" without my Q. Drives me crazy. I drove the MDX today and it felt so weird. Like an alien object.

I'll be happy when my Q comes back.

When pulling the plenum you will need/want:- plenum gaskets- throttle body gasket- IAC gasket- EGR valve gasket- lower runner gaskets(?)- valve cover gaskets

Is this correct?

The under plenum hose kit comes with plenum gakets, are these the same as lower runner gaskets?
No, two different gaskets my friend. The plenum gaskets are the roundrubber gaskets with metal inserts,(upper plenum gaskets,if you will) the lower runner gaskets that Brian isspeaking of is the 2 metal gaskets that mount on the intake ports on your heads. 1 for each inside bank of your head. The intake side of your heads are inner most area on your head, once you have the intake off you will then see 8 tall aluminum intake runners. Each intake runner has two 14mm bolts mounting it,once youunbolt intake runners you will see the lower intake runner gaskets,1 on each head. Good luck and make sure you dont over tighten anything.......remember, everything you are taking off and re-assembling is aluminum,so be sure and torque correctly. Invest in a good Factory Service Manualthey are priceless!!! good luck and have fun.

Not everyone does the lower runners. It's up to you but not required. It's not like all the old rubber cracking hoses. You won't likely be forced to pull the plenum back off just for them if you keep them. This is assuming you don't pull the lower runners off at all. If you pull them, replace the gaskets.

You're still talking about the lower runners right? They are the lower section of tubes that the Plenum bolts to.

The injectors also stick in to them. They don't need to be removed for replacing the knock sensors, but it would make it easier. I didn't do it because the gaskets were pretty expensive when I checked... maybe $100 or so? Justified the struggle getting the hoses back in after I replaced the sensors.

When I talked to my "local" Infiniti dealer I had the parts guy look up those gaskets and even he was surprised they were almost $120 EACH. Is this correct? Are these gaskets any different than the essentially "sheet metal" gaskets that came in my non-OEM kit? I only have to pull one runner off, but I might as well replace the gasket anyway.
