That should be a real clue that something is wrong with your 1994.

Nothing wrong with a Y34, but on the highway, little if any difference in mileage. Yet to be proven if VK/RE5 is as robust as VH/RE4. So far the data for VK is not good is abused especially.

No, the reason they changed was it was a dated chassis design being very similar to the FGY33 and F50. Interior efficiency was not its forte.

Only problems emanated from VK45DE, and usually only if it was abused. While OBD II permits a broader torque curve for the VK V8, it is not as conservatively designed as the VH V8.

So are you saying the 03-04 M45 is a bad choice for an abusive driver? I'm not that, but I do like to get cocky once in a while and its awesome being able to do 120MPH@3500RPM without having to worry about reliability issues.

Some Shell stations name their 87 octane PREMIUM... this may be a stupid question but does that mean I could use that premium in my car instead of their V-Power?

Read the owners manual- it states a 91 octane minimum- doesnt matter what they call it {marketing department}, it just needs to be 91 or higher-super,uber,v power, race gas, economy, poor peoples special..........as long as it is 91+, it is ok {but try sunoco 100 octane once for comparison if your knock sensors are working correctly to see what approxomates premium fuel similar to the good ole days}

LMAO @ "poor peoples special".

I'd love to try the 100 octane. Running too much of it and then switching back to 91+ wouldn't be a great idea though right? I ran the idea past a friend of mine and he explained about how cars get "addicted" to higher octane fuels and that they'll run a little cruddy after going cold turkey.
