v A Mercury Mountaineer has 1 chain in the front and 2 chains in the back. You cant just replace the engine if one goes bad. You have to pull the motor, replace all chains, put back in (which is like 20 hrs total), then see if its still making noise or whatever to then qualify for a new motor pull put in. Moral = Ford is no better.
