using washers as spacers ...?

Washers squish and deform. They are generally NOT meant for wheel spacers. Certain metal is used for certain applications, thin washers are not meant for the weight of a car pushing on them in a hard corner. Come on guys why would you do this?

If you do this, torque them to the correct spec as often as possible. I don't know what to say, I am all about DIY if it is functional and cheap but even I have a line I would not cross. This is generaly a BAD idea.

I would be constantly worrying about them. God don't do this, but if you do carry a torque wrench and extra lug nuts and washers in your car
