Yup, it's not necessarily the mods themselves, but rather the thought of if they were improperly installed, or the car driven like it was stolen during its' tenure with the parts, or the fact that someone else did it, not you, it's the journey, not the destination.
No one here would be excited to find a (insert favorite year here) Q totally hooked up with every mod they wanted...(unless they knew the owner)....but anyone from the same group would travel cross country to purchase a low mileage, well maintained, completely stock model.
Case in point: I bought a 2001 12k mile GSR with 15k worth of mods on it for a pittance a couple of months ago.....sold all the parts w/exchange for good condition oem parts & will <clean house> when I sell it (returned to original condition) in a couple more months. Not to brag, but I'll clear enough profit to buy a 99 Q, cash, but I'll keep my 91 & reinvest elsewhere.
Mods *are* detrimental to resale. Period.

Yup again, and it's hurting businesses who rely on the "keep it running another couple of years" type of customer.
Sell your car privately, or keep it & maintain it. I've spent a lot of a$$ time in many high horsepower street cars from various makes & I have come to love my raggedy 91 Q more than even I believe.
