Nissan’s North American arm will be launching an onslaught of vehicles over the next several years. For the first time in the model’s history, the infamous GT-R will be sold in the US, being launched as a 2008 model and priced around the $60,000 mark.

The new GT-R will likely be powered by a twin-turbo V6 displacing 3.7-litres with an output of at least 450hp and will be sold alongside the next generation 350Z which will arrive in late 2009 or early 2010.

So that gives me about ten years to save up enough money to buy one used and pay for insurance since I'm sure it will just be dirt cheap. Why don't they hurry up and develop the rwd equivelant of the sentra ser.

If gas prices don't quit going nuts we are looking at some serious changes in the car market which will include a redefinition of a "performance car".

Why cant they make them all run on Ethanol, grow some more friggin corn, turn the middle east into a glass parking lot (sand + nukes (heat) = glass ), so we can move on with our lives?

Bah, the middle east will destroy themselves. Gas prices will never effect the performance market. Hell gas prices are $4-4.5 in japan, yet they still have all sorts of exotics and such.

Ethanol is meh. I know how to fix our gas prices along with a lot of other people. But, no one wants to front the money for the project.

God you're retared...For so many reasons.

Anyway. Nothing new, all that info was said shortly after they announced the new GT-R. I'm disappointed that it's branching off from the Skyline, still. I'd rather see a AWD V36 with a VQ37HRDETT (wow, those engine codes are getting long)...THAT'D be hot.

Call me ignorant, but what does the HR mean in that engine code.

Talking with a fellow Nissan enthusiast friend of mine, he had told me that Nissan IS planning on using the 3.7 litre V6. Has this already been confirmed and I am just WAAAAAAAAAAAAY outta the loop, or has this information not been publicized yet?

'High Reving' or something to that effect, I do believe.I think it revs to 7k+, there's a thread on it somewhere, don't remember where though.

It's probably better they let The S series go out in it's best form. They should have stopped the GT-R at the R34 if they were going to do this to the once noble beast, the Silvia got off easy. I bet the frogs bring the S16 out as a FWD and try to compete with the RS-X with it.

Yep. Not selling enough so they axed it in North America. Too bad, too. I liked them.

You're telling us that Honda couldn't sell enough Integras in North America?

THERE IS A GOD!

LOL

Sorry, I, too, liked the RSX. Loved the design and the powerplant was pretty stout.

Yeah that was a dumb move. The Teg was one of the few Honduhs I actually liked.

I only respect the Acura CL ( it sounds freaking amazing with exhaust and CAI), but I don't know how quick it is... sounded fast :D, and I respect the Honda Prelude, as they are pretty quick as well.

Nothing else....

Some delsols if they have the money spent right and don't look like they came right out of the fast and the furious two.

As for the RSX? never liked it.
