Hmmm,

I kinda like my current shifter, but if this is as good as PPL say it is, maybe I should just throw in an extra few bucks to my 1.5way Nismo order..

I am interested in this, i just have a quick question. is there any side effect to a short shifer, like the transmision will wear out faster, or griding, or a shaking or hasher ride. sorry for the noob question. Thanks,

jon

okay well i just installed mine.. and there seems to be missing some stuff... or is there a different way to do it? well i think i am missing 4 screws + washers, and something to secure the shifter...

i believe i missing the 4 screws that attaches to the platenuts and the spacer as seen here http://www.240sx.org/links/ins...2.jpg

and about securing the shifter i think i need a head gasket? **i could just pull the shifter up** or something but i am missing something to secure it. or am i just doing something wrong?

i followed the instructions for a pilot short shifter because they had similar parts and so does obx. here's the link http://www.240sx.org/links/ins....html

if someone could fill me in about the above things then please do [email protected]

Yay, we test fitted them!

I am waiting on my buddy to email the photos we took today of the cat-back exhuast, test pipe install. And then secondly, we did the short shifter install.

For the short shifter, everything bolted up. But, you are going to need some parts off the old shifter. We used a hacksaw to thinly cut one side of the plastic ring grommet, and we also cut part of the plastic inner boot, so that we could reuse those pieces with the new shifter.

The one piece we didn't use, that I would recommend everybody buy, is the plastic tip that goes on the end of the shifter. Since we didn't use it, we have a little play. Some of my friends liked it soft like that, but I like my shifts really tight! So, I'll let you guys decide how you like it.

You are missing four screws. We went to Autozone and bought 2 packets of #6 Metric 25mm screws. They didn't come with the shifter, but they are required to screw the brackets to the shifter.

Give me a few hours to get the pics from him.

Thanks!

Chris

Hmm... they should of made a complete kit to begin with.. What is with this having to goto the Zone to buy screws and needing to hacksaw stuff? And also not having the rubber tip? I have tried getting that tip off on an old shifter and I pretty much had to cut it off, which defeats the purpose of having it since you can't reuse it.

I guess I'll keep using my stock shifter then.

Here's the pics, Its a bunch, so filter through!

That's the Megan Racing Cat-Back Exhaust, Megan Testpipe (Cat Eliminator) and Short Shifter.

Cat-Back and Testpipe took us about 8 minutes from start to finsh to chage out.

Short Shifter took about 1 1/2 hours. If I do it again, I would estimate about 30 minutes. First time always takes the longest.

Let's talk about the cutting, it's nothing major. You have to reuse two of the parts off the old shifter. No biggy! Simply cut one side where you can pull it apart enough to remove it. Then place it on the new shifter, no biggy. But with any modification, you can expect some work.

This is simple guys! If you can't install this, don't touch your car for anything else! Take care!

I bought the SS for my S14(with S13 SR swap) and although every other. I guess I will just have to wait till I can find a C's u SS I have works fine for an S13 and S14 (B&M and C's) this one does not. The very bottom of the shifter, the piece that goes into the shift linkage, is too far away from the sphere shaped part of the shifter. I cannot use this SS to test it out. I was really dissappointed because I hated the notchyness of the B&M and the C's shifter is a friendsnless the manufactorer of the Megan SS will fix/swap their SS. I must say I am dissappointed that this didnt work out.

Lol,

You probably turned the plastic piece upside down when you removed it. It should work, we did the same thing and it took me about 15 minutes to try to figure out why it wasn't going in all the way.
