In case anybody is interested, I'm selling my 240 in the classifieds. Price is negotiable, and can fluctuate depending on travel/delivery.

Not trying to hijack; just letting ya'll know there are come clean s13s out there for a good price.

Do it then. The Lexus is a better car than a 240 any day. Think of it as an inexpensive yet luxurious MKIV Supra. The 1JZ drops in about as easy as an SR does for us. Or do it big and get an SC400. Think of how many import guys are scrambling to swap V8's into their cars. You can get one of the few RWD import coupes with a V8 from the factory. Plus, there's a NA-T SC in Risky Devil, too.

Also, if you're looking at other options, don't forget the Z32. I've been spending time over in NICO's Z boards... Seriously, those cars have to be the most underrated cars in our demographic.
risky devil=show stoppin LOL i was at a car show once when all those guys pulled in and lemme tell you everybody there from like all 4 corners of the show like flocked around there cars those guys are awesome

and SC300/400 has always been a car i have wanted to own i think both of them are awesome cars for under 5000. i have had alot of seat time in the IS 300 and those cars are absolutely excellent EVEN the automatic model drifts/handles like a MOTHER f***ER if i had like 8000 to spend and wanted a new-ish car id def be looking into the IS300

i just saw a bone stock pignose 240 selling for $6500!!!! thing had only like 77k miles on it and it is clean as hell but that is an outrageous price. im pretty sure ive spend about 6500 in total on my 240 and its not sitting at monster truck height ill say that. upon looking down the thread you can read how the owner bought the thing for 3 grand, replaced the check valve in the booster line and now is trying to sell it for $6500. THIS IS DRIFT TAX IS GETTING OUT OF HAND

heres the link http://www.tristatetuners.com/...94993

also, i love FCs i just dont kno much about rotarys so i stay away from them. but i think they look better than alot of FDs out there if done right. plus they come in a vert that looks alot better than the s13 vert.

It's called a 'Remote Rear Mounted Turbo'. Domestics have been using them forever. I feel that, at this time, the import scene is starting to mature and see eye to eye on the value of things like displacement (as evidenced by all the V8 swaps going on). I think looking at some of the things they do on their V8's can have some merit.

But it's not just for V8's... Here's a rear mount single turbo on a 350Z:

The Fatman Racing Pikes Peak S14 also has a remote mounted turbo kit, but I think he mounted it in his gutted cabin, though.

I'd rather take an I6 or V8 over a rotary anyday. Plus... b*tches love Lexus.

considering all the hype over HMIC setups and how they spool faster, looks like this rear mounted setup would have alot of boost lag. no?

It doesnt work like that the air is always compressed at the same amount no matter how long the pipe is. Im not good at getting technical but there are a few threads on this that can explain it alot better than i can. It actually allows for higher boost levels because the air is cooler.

^^^To me anyways. There are still things I can't quite wrap my brain around in regards to rotaries and even typical turbo set-ups, let alone something kinda new to imports like a remote rear mount.

But hey, it's not like I'm any kind of car bible. I'm certain there are cat here on NICO with a better understanding of it than I have. I like the concept of the remote mount because if your engine bay is just to cramped to stuff turbos/intercoolers/piping/etc in there, the remote mount makes it easier and allows the engine bay to stay cooler too.

Not only does it keep your engine bay cooler but it keeps your turbo cooler which in turn keeps the air cooler that is being forced into the engine and therefore your engine is more efficient and you can acheive higher boost levels using smaller turbos
