unbelievable! i live in the chicagoland area and it is UNBELEIVABLE how bad drift tax has risen on 240's in my area this past year!!! im not even kidding ive had handfuls of 240's and ive been shopping the past 3 weeks for one and it is just insane! i can almost buy a lexus sc300 cheaper than a stock auto 240.......WTF?!? i remember 3 years ago buying my 93 hatchback with 82k miles for $1000! its so bad i have been looking at shopping out of state

i found my 240 by luck, i must have past it a million times because it was off the road for 5 years in a driveway down the block from my elementary school, after i knew what kind of car i wanted i talked to the guy about it and it was mine for 900 i feel kinda dumb for not seeing it erlier

and yeah i like rx7's but i would definatly have to see some paper work on apex seals,etc before buying one. its like buying a mk3 supra with 130k miles, never know when that HG is going to decide to go ya know

I know what ya mean, I've been seeing a lot of that, I dunno if you remember a few months ago this guy wanted $7k for a stock s13 because he had all the bolts "polished" chicago is so damn rediculus for it, especially that the damn cars are always having rust, should have just stayed in cali, because in cali yeah you're paying more but at least there is 0% rust, well unless its a hatch with a ghey foam spoiler....lol

Man if we lived closer to cali you can get a swapped 240sx cheap because a lot of people smog the car do a swap after and then they have 2 years to smog again, when smog rolls around again a lot of people are too lazy to swap in a KA and smog it again so then they just sell cheap as hell.So much cheaper than find a car here then paying for a motor swap.with the money you save for getting something in illinois you can find a cheap 240sx out in cali and buy a one way ticket to northern cali (southwest airlines always has $80 one way tickets to san francisco) then the rest of the money you can drive the car back. I've already done it twice in the last year.

Yeah...I probably spent about 6+ months of looking around and trying to find a decent s13 that was near to where I lived.

While looking around on craigslist, I lol'ed at the guys that were trying to sell their s13 for a ridiculous amount like $8000, cause it had an Eeeessssrrrrrr and teh body kitz y0!

I drove to Knoxville from cinci and hauled it back cause of the rust. Knoxville=no salt=0 RUST.

Do it then. The Lexus is a better car than a 240 any day. Think of it as an inexpensive yet luxurious MKIV Supra. The 1JZ drops in about as easy as an SR does for us. Or do it big and get an SC400. Think of how many import guys are scrambling to swap V8's into their cars. You can get one of the few RWD import coupes with a V8 from the factory. Plus, there's a NA-T SC in Risky Devil, too.

Also, if you're looking at other options, don't forget the Z32. I've been spending time over in NICO's Z boards... Seriously, those cars have to be the most underrated cars in our demographic.
