Do you happen to know who it is that does have one?

One guy here, I think his nick is Canadian Drifter. Build thread was something like S13 VH45DETT. Had lots of pics and a couple of vids. Pretty hardcore.

Does anyone know if there is a stroker kit available for the vh45/vk45 and who makes low compression turbo pistons for them? Thanks

You can get the crank offset ground, I'm sure Paeco can do it for you.

CP make custom pistons for whatever you want. Low comp forged VH45 pistons are available from them, often a few listings on ebay.

Im working on getting this one going. It will be going in my S14. Hopping to find another car so i can park my S14 and beging fabrication. Oh and a second job wouldn't hurt LOL.

Some of you guys might recognize this motor. It was the one that Tecni was building. It has Venolia pistons and Pauter rods, with 9:1 compression.

I would disassemble that engine and reassemble it if I were you, he offered me that engine, but I turned that down the Pauter rods in it .

The specifications of those rods they are the same specification to go in VK45's at least thats what they said.
Rod length : 147mm
Wrist pins 8.66
BE:8.65
SE: 22mm

Price :$1576

IMO those rods are much too heavy.

Yep that was my plan. I don't like relying on other people's work. I rather spec everything out and replace all gaskets myself, and make sure everything was torqued correcly.

Use a rod bolt stretch gauge on those rod bolts, call up pauter to find out what hardware they are, and what to stretch them to do not ''torque'' those.

Just some friendly advice.

also what do you mean

Wrist pins 8.66
BE:8.65
did you misplace the decimal? are you using in or mm? im pretty sure you don't mean inches cause that wouldn't fit in the engine, and that would be way to small if it's mm.

Probably just a misstype.

BE width and wrist pin diameter in inches I placed the decimals wrong.

Then again I took these down to make something since I discovered the VK56 crankshaft fits in the block the crank snout just needs to be modified, and I managed to find them being sold cheap. I can get you full specifications just can't find my complete notes.

Yeah, I doubble dchecked the measurements for the VK and the VH on the FSM and all the dimentions are the same. Only diference is that the VK gives you less of a difference in the big end diameter VH is 55"-55.019" and the VK is 55"-55.013" so that means the rods are interchangable.

I don't doubt he got the right parts for the build, but I just don't trust other peoples work when it comes to something with tight tolerances. I can be more at ease that the engine is built right if I do it myself, and not have to worry about it destrying itself before I even get to tune it.

Thanks for the help though im glad to see that people in this forum acctually look aout for oneanother.

DRFTBLD, sorry didnt mean to take over your thread.

No build thread yet, it probably won't be done for a while, so I rather not make a build thread until I have all the $$$ or all the parts. I can't wait to finish, might pick up a second job just for the build. Unless one of you guys want to fund my build . lol

Vk56DE have larger connecting rod journals, so these specifications are only valid for the Vk45DE.

That small variance could be the difference in room temperature.
