That would be about right...power ain't cheap...you would be better off with the 3.5 for that initial burst in power.ixfocusxi wrote:dang i just got an estimate to get an turbo installed and it runs about 6500
that seems kinda high, but may be accurate. Or it could just be CA inflation.ixfocusxi wrote:dang i just got an estimate to get an turbo installed and it runs about 6500
whoa negative nellyESP wrote:Again, it's all fine and well to claim that these companies will come out with a turbo...but will they? I mean, the QR25 has been around for a few years now but there hasn't been that much FI action going on with it thus far. You can't really compare it to something like the tC or even the numerous Honda engines that are boostable. The biggest problem with the QR is the fact that it wasn't designed to handle boost in stock form. If you want to go FI safely, you've got to do so much work to the internals that it's practically not worth it any more. Read that article that JD posted...it'll tell you everything you need to know.
...that being said, I too wouldn't mind a few extra ponies via mild FI...I just know it really isn't very cost-effective.
I like your passion, but talk is cheap brotha. Get on it make some calls. Its been awhile since somebody has made some calls.infused305 wrote:what we shou;d do is make a thread like this one to create demand for the turbo and contact a compnay like stillen, artisan, or turbonotics to make one.
HAHA! Sorry man, just my take on the matter! I priced out how much it would cost for the valve springs, cams, etc and IIRC it added another $1500 onto the price tag. If there was a more cost effective method, I'd probably be jumping all over it. I much prefer small, boosted engines to those with higher displacement.dldjros69 wrote:
