is it the pink wire off the r32 ecu?

after i plug up the hks timer to the hks timer harners adapter there are 3 loose wires..

1 is black im assuming its ground ?1 wire im guessing is for the e-brake right?1 wire is for the tach signal?

thanx for all the help

hey c33 can you answer those q's for me please.

anyway i think ive decided to mount the timer behind the steering wheel on top of that black box, before the gauge cluster. it looks pretty clean and is out of the way of getting bumped into.

thanx to all who helped.

Yeah...a pink wire. The RB20 ECU and the one from the Laurel are the same thing according to my Schematic. They both have the same number...N4-a. All RB20DET's with the exception of the R31 have the same ECU.It should be the 4th one to the left of that bolt, on the top row. If it isnt there, look at it from the other side, and do the same...4th to the left. If you look at the top of the ECU and find the bolt, you will notice a plastic piece around the threads. There is a clip that should be to the imediate right of the bolt. If that is how you are looking at it, then you are G2G. Count 4 wires to the left on the top...that is your tach lead.

And yes, you are right about the three wires. One for the tach, one for the e-brake light switch, and one ground.

I found if you take your center counsel so you can see your shifter and e-brake handle, you will see the switch at the bottom of the handle for the light switch. Tap into the wire coming from that. Then tap the other wire to the tach lead and you are now on a timer.

Hope that helps you out.

if you want to be original, and if you don't smoke, you can remove the ashtray on the middle console and have it sitting in there. gives it a clean and original look.

yea i dont smoke, and did think about that location but i was sitting in the passenger seat when i thought someone could just knock into it, its either that or kick my co pilots ***'s LOL

i dont know i guess i could mount it there and if i see it being a problem then i might move it.

thanx for your input

EDIT: if i moved it there im guessing i would need to buy a piece of ABS plastic and trim it to fit.

Hey man, did you get that thing wired up yet, and did it work. Let me know if you weren't able to find that wire. I will see if I can figure out a way to get that diagram to you that I used.
