its a question of time and money ...tuning an sr20 is alot easier if u go turbo on the ka u have to go with a piggy back or stand alone which is more expensive you also have to spend time tuning the ecu to ur driving needs... the sr is a turbo engine the ecu is already made for it

I cant believe you havnt been flamed yet.

Its all personal preference. Both are good, blah blah.

To answer your question you need to do a lot of reading on both before you make your decision. Dont just rely on the opinions of others to chose how your money will be spent on your car.

Go to the Ka-t section of this forum, and the SR section and read all the 'stickied' threads. They are the threads at the top of the page, normally marked FAQ, or Noobs read.

Your doing yourself a disservice by asking these types of questions, you really need to come up with your own answers on stuff like this.

Ok heres the biggest thing one should consider before building anything and I do mean anything......What kind of hp/tq is to be expected? And at what rpm?Hmmmm seems to me that most people dont consider what rpm its making the power.....Do you consider pump gas prices??...With turbo never run lower than 93 octane,,,,,Ping ping knock knock....Boooooooommm If its to be a daily driver, if you're like the most of us and arent rich....Build something that is in the medium level of output so that reliability isnt an issue.....Another thing to consider is emissions control....Whats your law regarding engine swaps?.....

One of the most important thing people forget about is downtime.....How much and how long will it take if it breaks?.....

This is what you need to ask yourself,,,,The main thing is you can ask anything you want but only you will know what makes you happy.....

Sr swap will cost you 4500 for someone to do it. Ka-T you can do your self for under 2k.My advice is find another block and build it. What is your power goal. You may be fine at stock internals. Come over ot KA-T forum and search through some set-ups.

turbo the Ka because the SR . for starters the SR are done after 7k RPM that is the reason why the SR is considered the "japanese crystal motor." The other things is the cost of the swap its self. i think it is going to run you about $4500.
