Spent the day installing my intercooler and test fitting the manifold and turbo to see what I'm up against in the coming weeks. Without further babbling, here are some pics!

After grinding down the bumper support a little, it finally fits! Look how close the bumper is to the intercooler

After everything's together, it doesn't look too bad! Except the intercooler sticks out about an inch! Doh.

Clearance on master cylinder.

Closeness of the compressor to the body. I had to remove the power steering resovior out the way to get that to clear.

And finally, the overview of the manifold + turbo.

Checkered: It's the good ole T04E/T3 .50 trim with a 0.63 A/R turbine stage3 wheel w/ the ETD manifold.

RED: Do you have the ETD manifold also? I don't like how the PS just dangles there, so I'mma make a bracket to support it a few inches away.

everything looks nice. I hope everything else goes well for you. Those moss colored s14s look so nice. Get a lip on that front bumper and it should cover up the intercooler sticking down. Are u having intercooler piping done?

I got the S14 greddy intercooler kit for their turbo kit and the pipings LOOK like they line up pretty well, except for the 2" hotpipe that I'll probably toss out in favor of a 2.25" or 2.5" one. I also need to weld a bov flange on there.

Since I'm getting views from this post and my last post didn't generate an answer, does anyone know what size the oil feed is on my turbo? It's a T3 turbine. In the third picture, there's a threaded oil feed hole and I havn't found the right size adapter for that yet.

only the IC is the greddy kit. The turbo is a T04E.

it should be 1/8 NPT going into the turbo. The other side of the fitting would be the size of whatever your oil line is. Most of them, lets say is -3 AN. So you would need a 1/8 NPT to -3 AN adapter (male to male)

I have the same turbo and mani and I believe it was a 1/4 npt adapter for the turbo oil inlet.

Looks very nice!!

Although my turbo fits perfectly without having to move the PS reservoir... but thats prolly because Im using a small turbo (t3 super 60).

Power steering resevoir solution...hack up the stock bracket, and attach it to the fender:

See this pic -

And notice the ugly difference between a non-coated manifold and turbine after a year plus, versus his new (and coated) turbo parts...hehe.

spark plugs/wires/oil are maintenence...not modifications.

kinda ridiculous that you count oil changes as 400 dollars worth of mods.

I confirmed with three different people over the last couple of weeks that my turbo has a 1/4" oil inlet.

UPDATE: My rod bearings are a little noisy so I'll be replacing that when I pop in the modded oil pan.. other than that I'm just waiting on wayne for injectors and some free time to do my downpipe!

I still think yall are crazy about the 1/4 oil inlet. I have confirmed that t3/t4's have 1/8" NPT oil inlets. I do not know where you are getting your information from or maybe you have a "special" turbo.Look here under turbo accessories...http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/index2.html

That's exactly where I got my oil feed. Part TA004 w/ 1/8" NPT adapter.

The turbo came from here . I even emailed them asking about the oil inlet and they also said 1/4". Anyhow, the 1/8" kit I got from JGS is slightly smaller and is not even close to fitting onto my turbo.

WD: I didn't actually mind that this post was derailing, but if it stays on topic, then its better... :)

hmmim not sure what center section that guy uses but most turbonetics or garret center sections use 1/8 NPT inlet.

Hey, cut your flange, the one that attaches to the manifold. Or it may crack. And if you haven't, enlarge the bolt holes in such a way that allows the flange to expand and shrink. I would hate to see this nice setup be a PIA because of the flange.

Otherwise, nice going :)

P.S: the FMIC is good for ungodly amounts of power, how much are you planning on running for WHP? Because if it's under 400, you may want a smaller one to avoid pressure drop.Remember: large size is good only relative to the application it's used for. Then again, your turbo looks like it could support the 400whp so maybe I'm just jealous of your nice FMIC :)

Well the plan is to stick to 6-9psi of boost until I build up the spare motor. I'm not going to be running any insane amounts of HP yet.

The FMIC kit is a Greddy one that was made for the KA, and I got it for pretty cheap, so why not use it? :)

yeah, in most cases it's better to be ready for expansion than running at the limit of all the parts. It's just always hard to find that sweetspot where you are not over-doing it but not about to blow either. some peopel like the extremes, I like to be efficient.
