I finally found a local welder who's enthusiastic about doing some welding for my car instead of doing it for money. I'm scheduled this upcoming Wednesday for oil pan bung welding, turbo to downpipe fabrication and welding and o2 bung, another o2 bung on sr downpipe, some wastegate piping, and bov flange welding. All in all, I'm pretty stoked and will be calling in sick Wednesday just to have this done \. :D

Unfortunately, my Tomei 555cc injectors won't be coming in until beginning of August! DOH.

Update: I spent all day Saturday installing the turbo and it's about 90% complete except I still have to tighten a few nuts and bolts, and a few issues (mainly exhaust leaks) that people with ETD manifolds should be aware of:

1. The ETD manifold isn't mating flush with the engine head and it's causing a HUGE exhuast leak. I knew I shoulda cut slots in between collectors! DOH! <- n/m about that..

2. The wastegate flange on the manifold doesn't fit with the 38mm Tial wastegate that I have without leaving out the ring that comes with the wg. <- it looks like the majority of my leak comes from here, by leaving out the ring.

3. Using a 3" downpipe, the turbo and dp flange comes VERY close to the master cylinder and the lines. It's about half an inch away!

Anyhow, tommorow's gonna be another fun day - tighten everything up and swap in my Tomei 555ccs and then I'm off to a deserted street to do some DIY tuing. :)

Oh yeah, I'll post pictures once my friend sends me the pictures on her digital camera.

Here's a picture of engine bay... that's all for now until I get more complete pictures tommorow after everything's done. It looks messy, but it'll be cleaned up. :)

It is good that all of it is comin together. But don't be so totally satisfied with the system, because there will always be some little problems that will just piss you off. I finished mines about 3 weeks ago and finally believe I have worked out all of the bugs. So just be cautious of everything. Check everything crazy for a week or so and start to notice any problems with the car, because things will come up.

that master cylinder isnt so much a problem as you have acaoted turbine--also you may want o coat/wrap the downpipe. It may save you life. Melted m/c's are no joke--especailly over 120.

One last thing--why does the edt mani place the turbo so close to the fender , and not closer to the valve cover? The closer tot eh valve cover , the better i think \--i a daggum valve cover can get hot--a brake master cylinder cant.

good looking turbine there, bud. I love cermaic coatings.
