If oil is coming from the turbo there a 3 possibilities.

1.)Excessive blow-by from work piston rings2.)Blocked Oil Return Line to sump3.)F$%ked Turbo

Good luck with the return

Well i think the return may have been blocked because my compression fitting from that hardline wasnt centerered and could have blocked it. But wouldnt the mess up the turbo to the point of were i should have it replaced? Its free so i should probably just get it replaced, go back and get it all done.

Quote »Well the turbo company said it would drain like that if its not under pressure. So i gotta figure out if its worth sending the turbo back to have it replaced. They said it would be better to just send the bearing section but how hard is it do reassemble the turbo? I have take one apart before but i couldnt get the wheels back on right because if i tightened them to much they wouldnt spin and not enough and they would unscrew themeselves.[/quote] Man, what kind of crappy service is that! if they sold you a turbocharger, they should be more than willing to take the whole unit back and do a true inspection of their product. By telling you to tear apart the unit, is just like me having problems with a new car's engine and the dealer is telling me to take the engine out of the car and bring it to them minus the car (Makes no sense). That turbo could've been out of balance which lead to it's early demise. I would send the whole thing back and ask them if it's balanced.

Well i ended up only taking the compressor cover off caus i realized the turbine bolts on every turbo are always TIGHT. They would have taken the thing but its cheaper for me and them if i removed as much stuff as not needed. But ill probly ship it tommarow and hope it comes back with good news.

Even if the oil return line was blocked, this wont DAMAGE the turbo, it isn't good for the seals, but it isn't going to warrant a rebuild.

I'd suggest you get it looked at anyway, as they can clean it up for you in the process. If the oil is in the compressor cover, I'd suggest you check your return lines.

If it is on the turbine, that's bad.

What is the best (cheapest, least work) method to ship to canada? Thats where blaast is and ups is making me fill out crazy forms for a $16 shipping charge. Is there a faster way?
