I've come to the conclusion that i want to go kat. Its just really appealing to me, dont feel like dealing with the headaches of jdm engines. Im looking to push out a little more/less than 270 hp. Nothing crazy, its my daily driver and i wanna make it more fun to drive.Im pretty sure you guys get alot of peeps asking for setups and what brand to use, and you'll probably answer use the search engine or use what brand you want. I was looking into the Greddy kit, but its for the s14. Underneath the description it says it will work on all 240s with modifications. Does anyone know exactly what? Pretty sure one of the obvious would be obdII converion. Anything else? Also it says it has everything i would need, is this true? Thanks alotIf you have any suggestions on a reliable and more cost effective setup please give me some insight. Thanks in advance.

p.s.-ill be trying to learn everything i can about turboing a ka the next few months, so im sorry if im a scrub.

You were right about us replying with "SEARCH first then post!" but I might as well expand on that.

Yesterday there was a thread similar to yours of which you should read. Not exactly the same thing but will probably answer or clarify some things for you.

Secondly, please please PLEASE read the stickies at the top of this forum! Almost all of the questions people join to ask on their first post can be answered there. Here is the link...

Scroll down to "Turbo Tech" and check all of that.

On top of that, if you still have a question, email Brian (WDRacing) with your specific question/s. I'm sure he'll post in this thread anyhow, so you might as well just wait for it.

As for my advice, if you're completely clueless and have never done anything auto-related yourself before, you're safe with just giving a performance shop a month to custom build your turbo kit to your power goal. This is your most expensive option. On the other end of the spectrum, AKA the cheapest, you're completely DIY minded and would piece together a kit from some kind of T3 turbo with a cheap IC likely from ebay. Place yourself in that spectrum where you figure you'd belong.

About the Greddy kit, last time I checked they made an S13 kit too, or perhaps the S13 and S14 are no different. Anyway, its expensive but certainly effective and would net you your power goals, depending on how beat up your KA is...

thanks, yea sorry bout the repost. I must have been using some bad key words when searching. Cause i finished reading about 5 posts on this topic. Looks like it will mout up right, but the ic piping might be a problem, something bout the exhaust and the emange will have to be messed with. Also i heard that i will have boost creep problems if i have an 3" exhaust with this kit, so i should be fine with a 2.5 brm one im guessing. Having a shop do it will be to expensive, as far as getting it installed, my dad who used to own a shop will help me out with that, i just need to search for everything ill need. He said hes gonna do all the manual work, so get my lazy *** up and do the researching!!!!

Almost all of the options come down to finances and technical ability. Personally I'd go with an EBAY FMIC setup and the JGS basic turbo kit. The JGS kit comes with a quality manifold and the best matched turbo for the KA24E or DE. You'll need to modify the the hotpipe a little to align with the turbo and then you'll need an intake pipe that goes between the filter and turbo. And thats just the hardware, you'll still need injectors and somthing to control them. I suggest a new ECU that has been tuned for a specific injector. Enthalpy and JWT both make quality ecu's.

Read Read Read...thats really the best advice I can give.
