Ive searched, and I cant seem to find any T25 or otherwise turbo rebuild kits through any of our sposors, my trubo is smoking pretty bad now and Ive had a spare T25 with bad seals sitting here for weeks, I just dont know where to find a good rebuild kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated

not all turbos can be rebuilt. but you can usually order a new chra. take it to a machine shop and they will be able to tell you. if you can't find one that services turbos, call your local diesel mechanic and he will be able to refer you to one.

stupid question, how should I get the turbine wheels off, without bending the shaft?

The turbine wheel is part of the shaft. If you have already removed your compressor wheel, your exhaust and compressor housings, and any visible c-clips and bearings and your shaft is still captured in the CHRA, you have a non-user-rebuildable ball bearing CHRA and you need to order a new CHRA.

its a journal bearing Garret T25, and Im wondering how to get the nut off the exhaust side, Ive heard that putting another wrench on the turbine can damage the shaft.

There is no nut on the exhaust side! The turbine wheel does NOT separate from the shaft. Only the compressor wheel separates from the shaft -- the turbine wheel is cast along with the shaft, and they are the same piece!

No, use two wrenches and careful application of force.

Rather than make a new thread, I would rather drag this up from the depths of oblivion. Where did you get your rebuild kit from? I see them all the time on ebay, but I'm not sure about them. I have a T25 with tons of shaft play (no housing damage on the cursory inspection). However, the turbo is clean. There is very little carbon on the turbine and the compressor is beautiful.

Also, is there a way that I can balence it on my own? I'm in the middle of New Mexico, and there isn't much of a performance market out here.

Thanks,Krypt

any good diesel repair shop should be able to balance the wheels and they can order the kit for you, Ive never been to a performance shop that could do balancing, at least not in my area,
