in autox the last thing you need is 400hp in a 240 unless your a goodass driver, but for drifting, you need somthing that is allways at full boost or close to it so you have consistent power throughout the hole drift.

lol...i'd go with anything from a s15 t28 (rebuilt) to a 2871r .64 a/r ..you want a turbo that will make boost very quickly but not be too powerful..for both of these things one of these turbos would be good..s15 t28, gt28rs, gt2871r

idk if i would recommend the .84 a/r exhaust housing for drifting and autox..you want something with a nice quick spool so i'd get a smaller housing..dont know what options the 76r comes with though..actually ive heard that the 76r does spool faster than the 71r but i dont know if this is true..and i dont know what housing that is..talk to karmakaze about that turbo he had it

This guy is apparently doesn't care. He asked for advice, totally disregarded the advice, and went with the original turbo that everyone adviced him against. He is going to end up with a turbo that isn't for autox or drift, but he can tell all his fanboy friends that he has 400hp.

Congrats.

Oh my, don't get all upset.

I am just saying, it's pointless for them to try to help you. You came asking for advice and then totally disregarded any input that they gave you. You say that you want to do autocross and drift, which generally require quick spooling turbos, and yet you still plan on going with a .86

In other words you wasted these people's time. Congats.

i didnt disregard anything 1st of all if u wanna post in my thread then give information to help dont start bitchin ookay, and 2nd of all do u even know **** about eaither turbos cuz it seems liek u dont, and there are alot of pro drifters that prolly run turbos bigger than a t28, alot of them have like 5-650 to the wheels so u cannot tell me a measly .86 trim is not good for drifting

aight i was talking to one of the garret turbo dealers he was saying the gt3076r externally gated 63 trim would be good for 400+ hp but i would have to get a top mount manifold new downpipe and new ic piping so im just gonna get the gt2876r 64, i havent talked to karmakazie yet but i will later i should have my whole setup done by the end of the summer

alright man good luck..but your best bet would probably be to head over to the drift forum section on nico and talk to them about what turbo is best for you..and oh by the way if you want to hit 400whp on any turbo on the sr you are going to have to upgrade your cams to atleast hks step 1 264's maybe slightly bigger and anything bigger than those cams means upgraded valvetrain..i believe the hks step 1 264's are good for 390 max maybe 400 and the smallest size injectors you could run would probably be 650's

everything I can add to this thread i have already stated in the link above.

I personally think that this turbo will blow the gt2871r away. i have one in front of me and its freaking huge turbine with the standard t28 exhaust. i think it will spool hella quick, my main worry is boost creep.

eventually, i will upgrade to a topmount gt3076r, unless someone buys my gt2876r before i even slap it on. but i am not worried about it as i am curious to what this turbo can do.

although, my setup will not be a good baseline for this turbo since i am running an sr22det that practically does not have a stock part on it.

the gt2876r .86 is rated for 480hp btw.

ya i believe its true that the 76r spools faster than the 71r even with a bigger turbine..wierd but i guess anythings possible..and I guess if it spools sooner than the 71r then this would be a good turbo for goj_clouds goals..but i think 400whp is a little too much but i am not too sure of what the average drifter has
