yea the oil on the bulb and then exlposion thing must be a rare occurance cause i change lots of light bulbs all the time on aircraft and i have never seen one blow?

If you change your headlight bulbs and touch the glass, you'll be lucky to get 6 months of life out of them. Give it a try if you don't believe.

I installed mine by just turning the wheel to whatever side I was working on and I had plenty of room to get in there and mount the ballast. It's a lil tight when your trying to make the connections but personally I didn't feel like taking the wheel off!!

Haha dont get anxious! Was just saying ive never seen it so i was wondering if it was just a myth. I don't doubt the fact it would lessen the longevity of the bulb. But the explosion part i think is a little far fetched

The glass could shatter... its the oil on your hand that affects it...I didnt see it in a headlight, but i remember in my physics class i touched something i wasnt supposed to and the glass shattered (like when you smash a flourescent light) next time we fired the experiment up.
