To start off this is The car Im droping the sr20 into..

I bought an s13 sr20 a couple months ago (got a good deal) and up until a few weeks ago I have started to piece it back together. this is my first Sr so I know I will run into some bumps and this site has been very helpfull to me so far. For months Ive been on this site and others in the for sale section looking for parts. so far Ive bought-

new head gasketT25 turbo and all elbows (engine only came with the exhaust mani)starter exedy stage 2 clutchengine harnessMass air flow sensorsr20 intake pipecoils packs and harnessigniter3in downpipe

Heres the first pic I took of the engine but basically all I did before this point was clean up the engine( wasent really that dirty) and removed the head for the new head gasket

now i know its outside but Ive rebuilt some of engines before and really the only time I ever had the internals exposed was when i took the head off. and it was off for like 20 mins when scraped and cleaned the old gasket off.

before the new headgasket came in the mail I decided to touch up the valve coverFRESH

Good luck with emissions, champ.

If I were you I'd try to spin a profit on the motor, and go KA-T w/ Piggyback management so you won't be eliminating OBD-II.

Where I live we dont have emissons testing. The only thing they look for is if you have a cat bolted up. They cant even check if its hollowed out or not. they dont smog test its not the law over here. Just a visual inspection. yea Ima miss OBD II but tons of Sr20 people do without it. Ive maybe used my OBD II port once in the year that Ive had the car. And I have never had a tech check if the port works while doing an inspection. So its not a problem.

yeah as long as you are sure. I am running a OBD1 in my Kouki. fortunately I don't have to worry about emissions because I have a home outside of the metro area.

The bottom gets capped off. The top left goes to the fuel regulator and the top right goes to the bov depending on your setup. More responses to come! I shipped your lines out also!

It doesn't have to be capped off.. I use them all. One for the FPR obviously, one for my BOV and the third one has a line routed through the firewall for my analog boost gauge + ebc's control box.

P.S. I'm amazed and green with jealous rage that in certain states there are counties that do not require emissions testing.

Thanks for the input guys. And thanks for shipping out the t25 lines! That's the last thing I need to put the turbo on. Connected all the turbo elbows and stuff today. My turbo elbow was missing 2 studs and only came with one stud for the downpipe and it was stripped! But I found a cheap solution and now have new threads. Pics to come later on today.

what do you do when you missing studs? Go to lowes and buy sum new ones. 90 cent a piece and the just thread right in.

test fit PERFECT

Ran into a problem. It speaks for itself... this 02 housing is made for the fat on not the skinny one.

O and this seals the deal on knowing I have a red top. someone painted over the red valve cover black O well same output. wish I would have known before I repainted it black it still looks bad *** so Im good.

While Its off Im going to go ahead and replace the real main seal. But its going to the machine shop tomarro.

so you can use the bottom one for your boost gauge, sweet i've been trying to figure out a good spot to tap mine in to. thanks.

and here's ohios emissions testing, when you go to register the car they ask you to rate it good, fair, or wrecked condition. they dont even look at the car. then they issue you some plates and say have a nice day. you could have no exhaust on it at all, they dont care

that thing was rusted out pretty good.... o well thats japan for ya. when i got my clip, the whole thing was rusted out.

ya.. dont feel to bad on the being a red top thing....I found out that mine is a red top and was an automatic. an exhaust bolt was snapped off, drilled out, retapped, and then stripped again, my turbo oil line is stripped out at the block and leaking oil badly. i had to replace the maf, the ecu, and the injectors. and it still doesnt run correctly.

someone shoot me !!!

Got some small stuff done yesterday. I put in a new rear main seal and pilot bushing. the only thing thats keeping me from putting the transmission on is that I dont know if I should get lockwashers for the pressure plate bolts. Or should I just put lock tight on them???????? motor set didnt come with any so i have no clue.

new rear main seal installedthe new pilot bushingPilot bushing installed

I really hope you're not using nylon-insert lock-nuts on your turbo elbow (O2 housing)...

With the temperatures that the turbine sees, you're going to melt the nylon in no time and those bolts might back out.

Use heavy duty split-lock lock washers instead.

^yea I was going to swap them out.Havent updated in a while lost my camera but I got a new one. a friend and I put on the resurfaced flywheel, clutch, and bolted the transmission up. Then I found a lightweight flywheel . I know but I figured it would be easier to put on now then when in the car. anyways took the transmission off and replaced the flywheel with this Act lightweight one.

New Throwout bearing and new carrier

Forgot to take a picture of the clutch but its a exedy stage 1. so as of right now the transmission is bolted on [EDIT] I found some from the first time when we put it on. Its with the old flywheel but these are just pics to show you what the clutch looks like.
