Well, I am aware that there is a piece of white nylon inside of the rear quarter window assembly that seems to plague the community. I have noticed that both of mine are cracked, but at this point they seem to be holding together well enough to function reasonably well. It is almost impossible to find a glue that will actually hold nylon, but I have found this product (link below) and I propose it as a solution. Furthermore, it appears that this product is capable of fully replacing the part should somone wish to mold it and shape it. Thoughts? Eikon, any thoughts from you? I am trying to be proactive here.http://www.urethanesupply.com/plastifixintro.html

I suppose that I could give it a run. What is the best way to get at that part? From which direction and how? Furthermore, I would assume that lithium grease would be the best way to lubricate the window rails. Am I making a good assumption? Use it generously or sparingly? BTW: My interior job is supposedly done. I will be picking up the car later today and will post pics as soon as practicable.

Let's see those pics attwater!!!

As for your window idea... Sounds great!I'll be the first to admit that my knowledge of the rear quarter windows and their workings is all second hand. I've been blessed with properly functioning and reasonably well aligned windows, so I haven't needed to delve into the issue much.

But, that link sounds like a pretty good product. Granted it's advertising itself, so results may not be quite as great as they make it out to be, but I would think it would work. I would think it would be a great repair.

If your looking for instructions on how to get at the 1/4 windows, I'll see what I can find in the 'vert supplement guide and post it up. I'll try to do that this evening.

Good thinking! Love seeing people be proactive and find solutions that the rest of us can benefit from.

Chuey2's write up on the rear window guides was fantastic. zerothread/189729

in other news... my 'vert is still not running. I am now visiting my 3rd machine shop to get my intake manifold flange plained flat. What really sucks in the first two places both said... Sure we can do that... 5 days later.... Nope sorry we don't have the right equipment for that. SO... It's not looking like my car will be available to be driven to Chicago this weekend. Sorry about it!!!
