on my 95 s14, my trunk constantly rattles when driving down the road.... and its annoying the hell out of me.... i can go to my trunk and push down on it to make it rattle so im thinking the latch is loose... the only problem is its adjusted all the way tight... any other ways i can fix it?

Its most likely your bumper stops. I had the same problem but I fixed it by replacing the bumper stops.

If you look at the lid of your trunk... The part of the lid thats is the closest should have two rubber bumpers at each end. Inspect those and make sure that the "nipples" on them are hard and not worn (sounds kindda odd....) If they are worn thats why its rattling. Also inspect other bumpers. There should be a pair more towards the center from those bumpers at the end. Also another pair at the other side of the lid.

Along with the bump stops check your trunk latch, (the part that hold the trunk once you close it), it's bolted to the body on the inside. It is ajustable, just loosen the 2 phillip head screws and move it down slightly, then close the trunk and check to make sure it catches. This may take a few trial and errors but it is fairly simple. Do this after replacing the bump stops though.

Old post but hey I searched and this is what I found.

So bump.

Does anybody have a picture of what the trunk looks like with these bump stops in good condition. I think mine are missing completely.

Here is the link to the old thread I created:zerothread?id=99684

The nipple is supposed to stick out farther than the surrounding rubber. If it is smashed down to the same depth as the surrounding rubber, replace them. As you can see from the other thread, that my rattle did come back over time.
