Truck wont shift into 3-4. Stumped

The trans shop finally called me to come by and check out what they found.

Complete bs is what they found, I honestly never truly trusted this shop, but he called today and straight to my face said it was extremely low on fluid and need a 3 quart top up. Right then in my head I knew I checked it 5 times the previous week and even the day of drop off, and was perfectly dead on the hot mark everytime, and they were lying to me. Quoted me $1500-$2000 for a clutch pack rebuild.... no thanks....

Truck will be brought to another local shop thursday, what a waste of time.

What's the name of the shop? I'm guessing by your username you live in the gvrd.

gvrd? I dont quite get what that means. Its a no-name shop though in my very small town, not a chance any other member would use them.

I am dropping the truck off on my way to work before sunrise though, at a new shop, where the tech that I introduced my truck to was much more "personal" and I just trusted him more, seemed very knowledgeable on troubleshooting and knew the diagnosis for the shift solenoid operation.

At this point Im honestly expecting them to tell me I need a removal and rebuild, but it takes a bit of the burn off that huge bill knowing its going to a better place.
