A lot of this is placeholder stuff until I get all the facts/details.
BIG NOTE:
I am EXTREMELY poor! I have a wife and 2 kids and for much of the past 7 years I've had this car, it has sat in garages and shops waiting for the money to get repaired. The mods below were pieced together over the course of the last 7 years and this car is in NO WAY even CLOSE to what I have in mind...
So, I thought I'd create a profile for my 240sx which I've named 'Trisha'. This is just a place for me to track her mods and share with anyone interested. I might add a little back story later as this girl has one hell of a history, but for now I'm just gonna list out the mods.
Base vehicle:
1992 Nissan 240SX Convertible fully stock (only available in auto-transmission and only in USA if I recall correctly)
Note: Car was purchased on eBay for around $2300 and came with a couple mods such as Ferrari emblems and knock-off Ferrari rims with some decent Toyo Tires.
Conversions and Upgrades:
- KA engine replaced with SR20DET Red Top
- Auto-transmission converted to Manual
- MINE's Tuned ECU
- 3" Magna-flow exhaust (cat converter bypassed)
- JDM Front-Mount Intercooler (nice and big
) - 3" Intercooler piping as much as possible
- K & N Cold Air Intake
- BIG wheels!! Don't recall the size off-hand but I believe it was 18"
- Toyo Tires (forget which off-hand)
- NISMO Style 6 piece body kit + Another 4 piece body kit, cut up both kits and custom fabricated a unique one, added front fenders not from either kit. (Currently damaged from more than a few sources and needs a complete restoration or replacement.)
- Replaced old Ferrari emblems with new ones and added more (most are authentic, imported from Italy or Brazil)
- Headlights replaced with 'Halo Angel Eyes'. These need repairs
- 'Carbon Fiber Style' Black Leather Racing Seats for Driver/Passenger (Rear seat gets a black and red seat cover almost looks "80's", which actually makes it really look "Ferrari")
- Carbon Fiber NISMO style steering wheel with Ferrari emblem and quick-release hub
- Authentic Ferrari Shift-knob (not the steel ball kind, brown leather with yellow emblem. I had the steel ball kind and it was stolen while my electrical was messed up, so no alarm
) - Door locks removed and electronic locks installed. Awaiting 'shaved' lock mod for door exterior but cannot access locking mechanism through the hole. (Keeping manual handles, at least for now)
- Battery relocated to trunk
- Soft-top replaced with custom German engineered top (it was a LONG time ago, but I think the shop was called 'CarTopGuy' on eBay and I got him to do a custom job using the better materials)
- Interior door panels removed, awaiting custom upgrades that allow use of 6x9 speakers
- Alpine CDE-9845 (Downgraded so it would have a built-in audio input needed later...)
- Sold off the twin 15" Sony Xplod Subs that took up my entire back seat in favor of... a back seat for my friends/family! (But damn I miss the pounding bass from 2 blocks away. It gave such a good back massage!) Using some BIG 6x9's in the doors, hence the door panel mod above.
- 7 inch in-dash motorized LCD display
- Custom built trunk-mount desktop PC powered with Vector 1400watt power inverter
- Wired directly to the Alpine Stereo! My PC list of MP3's plus the Alpine system makes for one kick a** mobile juke box!
- Wired directly to the in-dash LCD display
- Kingston wireless mini-mouse and a water-proof, flexible "roll-up" USB keyboard stash perfectly in the glove box with room to spare
- 2 USB Ports mounted directly on the center console for easy access (One required for the keyboard)
- Wireless Network Card so I can access my home LAN, the internet, and wireless hotspots everywhere I go!
- Spoiler upgraded with a dual-wing, but it was a BAD call and will be reverted to a low, flat model more typical of a Ferrari (many people say this is what gives it away as a fake)
- Street Glow Yellow Neon interior and engine lighting purchased but not installed yet
- Viper Security System
- "Snap-on" stubby screwdriver key upgrade!
