I think I have an air lock in my cooling system. I thought it might be a thermostat but that is not it. Awhile back I changed my rad and it has been running hot ever since and I have no heat. I jacked up the front end of the car and ran it for about 40 minutes. The fluid just kept creeping to the top then spitting out all over the place. After about 35 minutes it was looking like the classic movie, car broke down, steaming. My lower rad hose, after all this, is still cold.

What did you do to verify that the thermo is ok? If you replaced it did you put it back in the right way? There is a jiggle valve that needs to be on the top. How about your water pump?

Why did you replace the radiator? Water pump, thermostat, headgasket, blocked heater core or other hose, could all be possible causes.

When you are bleeding the system, do you have the temp slide all the over on hot? If it is closed when bleeding, you WILL get an air pocket.
