Ok, that was just to trigger srpower's seeming grammatical obsessive compulsive side.

(By the way, I don't think I've made any thus far, but you are welcome to try your luck.)

And then take off the turbo, put on a custom-made N/A header (maybe the SR20DE header will fit).
Mess with the fuel tuning and make it run lean (Or rich. I forget which has lower smog output)..
Get all your wires around your motor to look OEM somehow (by fixing everything, getting plastic inserts, etc)..
With this shiet you probably can. But that takes a lot of work.

Furthermore, if you have a '96+ and an engine swap, you're really screwed because when the tech. goes to plug in the OBDII computer and it's not there, you fail. I have a '00 Mustang GT, and I failed because I disconnected my battery right before going to remove some stuff, which reseted the computer or something. I had to drive on the freeway for 15 min. to reset the computer so that my car could run its self-diagnostics check the next time around. They also removed my gas cap and analyzed the fuel I used (I assume), so don't go using leaded race gas. Why do you think there are so many 240s with SRs being sold? Because the owner got the car smogged with the KA, swapped in an SR, drove it for a couple years and now doesn't know what to do because his registration is on final notice and he can't get the car smogged. As far as registering the car without having the smog certification sent, I'm not sure how this works. My registration form said a smog certificate was "required" and I don't know why the DMV would even send out new tags if you didn't send them your certificate. There's only one way to get the car smogged in CA, and you all know what that is.
