srpowar, y dont u git a live and git over dis gramer stuf. i havta say dat last post wuz retardud. oh and bye duh way, y dont u fix all da miztakes u hav in ur posts.

Ok, that was just to trigger srpower's seeming grammatical obsessive compulsive side. :D Oh, and bro, I count two grammatical errors in your last post and one in your sig. How about in the future, instead of annoying everyone with those kind of corrections, just open up notepad, and keep the notes to your self. I'm sure everyone will greatly appreciate it, after all, this is a car forum.

exludesi, why don't you go ahead and point out those grammatical errors in my last post, (as well as the one in my signature) it will help me become a better person, I encourage it.

(By the way, I don't think I've made any thus far, but you are welcome to try your luck.)

Hey srpower, about your sig...what if your car is fwd?? HAHAHAHA. I know you can't launch the front wheels 3 feet in the air with a fwd vehicle...I would love to see a fwd do that though(no hydraulics please)!!!

Well, I can't imagine why ANYONE would want to drag race a FWD vehicle.

I know this isn't an option for most of you but I hear that there are no emissions if Florida. I was thinking about getting a 240 and doing the sr20det swap. Knowing this car will not pass here in NC, I could have it registered in FL., yeah?

If you actually think that fixing your grammar is going to make you a better person, your priorities are way outta wack...

So does that mean that you DIDN'T find any grammatical errors in my posts or signature? Or is it that you just don't feel like pointing them out?

I See. Smells like lameness to me.

Anyhow, I solved my emissions problem, I'm going tomorrow to "a guy" who will take care of me. It's going to cost me some money, but hey, it's another 2 years I don't have to worry about.

Thanks for all your help to everyone who replied. I appreciate it, and look forward to the next time you guys can help me out!

(Especially you 95exludesi);)

Until I actually need help from you useless morons again (j/k), Ciao!

Mountain Dew is my choice. Lowers sperm count at the same time, preventing pregnancy. Lower sperm+great taste = my pick of the night

Well, I think Mountain Dew tastes good, but for some reason whenever I finish drinking it I always seem to remain thirsty. I wonder what that's all about.

Under the table is best. I just helped my buddy pass his smog test. Found a person that hooks it up on the Smog for $200. I'm in CA, S.F.

That's right, no emission testing anymore! :) The state finally realized that it is a waste of valuable budget money to operate these testing facilities. They cost miliions per year to operate (salaries, electricity, etc). What a freaking waste of money. For the pecentage of vehicles out on the road that will not pass it was not worth it. Yes they may be hundreds of us with modified vehicles with no emission controls on but we are a very very small percentage of the population. It is easier and more cost effective to have a law which says no muffler shop can remove catalytic converters or emission controls (We have that her in FL). Simply do away with testing and save the state millions. The lawmakers should do that in Cali and save millions anually and maybe they wouldn't have that budget crisis. Damn, living in FL isn't so bad!!

Couldn't you just change the valve cover (or at least take of the TURBO part).

And then take off the turbo, put on a custom-made N/A header (maybe the SR20DE header will fit).

Mess with the fuel tuning and make it run lean (Or rich. I forget which has lower smog output)..

Get all your wires around your motor to look OEM somehow (by fixing everything, getting plastic inserts, etc)..

With this shiet you probably can. But that takes a lot of work.

I just got my car smogged yesterday. For everyone who says you can just make the engine look OEM, you're wrong. They scrutinized my engine bay. Furthermore, if you have a '96+ and an engine swap, you're really screwed because when the tech. goes to plug in the OBDII computer and it's not there, you fail. I have a '00 Mustang GT, and I failed because I disconnected my battery right before going to remove some stuff, which reseted the computer or something. I had to drive on the freeway for 15 min. to reset the computer so that my car could run its self-diagnostics check the next time around. They also removed my gas cap and analyzed the fuel I used (I assume), so don't go using leaded race gas. Why do you think there are so many 240s with SRs being sold? Because the owner got the car smogged with the KA, swapped in an SR, drove it for a couple years and now doesn't know what to do because his registration is on final notice and he can't get the car smogged. As far as registering the car without having the smog certification sent, I'm not sure how this works. My registration form said a smog certificate was "required" and I don't know why the DMV would even send out new tags if you didn't send them your certificate. There's only one way to get the car smogged in CA, and you all know what that is.

Hell no unless the smog guy a mexican and is blind. :)

Thats alot of work for a smog check. It the same thing as saying dropping ur KA24de engine back and smog it. Just pay the guy its worth it for ur daily pleasure of driving an SR20DET powered car.:)
