So i have a 1993 240sx hatch. All gears but 1st and second have gone out in the automatic transmission. i was contemplating on selling the whole car as is, but i wanted to know how much it would cost for a used or rebuilt transmission manual preferably and the cost to install???

if you need an automatic transmission i can sell you one, hell ill let you drive the car before i pull it. or i can do a 5 speed swap for you, or last i could buy your 240 from you. i buy them all the time, hell just got another one tonight. this one makes 11 total that i have. let me know. i pay top dollar for 240's in the dfw area.

id go with an exedy oem replacement. ive seen them for about 100.

ive been parting out cars for over 5 years and 240's specifically for the last 2. the 5 speed swap i would sell you came out of a bone stock 240sx that only had 168k and was a 2 owner car. transmission goes into gears smoothly. its pretty hard to kill the 5 speeds, i beat the dog piss outta mine and its held up fine so far. i guarentee all parts i sell. in the last 5 years ive had one complaint and it turned out the person was just trying to scam me by returning their old busted a** transmission thinking i dont mark my parts

plus the fact im saying ill install it for only 250 extra. thats cheap as hell and why would i waste my time installing busted a** parts for only 250 when i dont get paid till you get your car back in good runnin order.

Are these clutches bought online? or where? .. .

sounds legit . cause i dont want to get rid of my 240.. How long does it take you to fix it?

and the 650 would include taking out the automatic thats in it right now correct?

personally ive found the cheapest exedy's on ebay. you have to watch who you buy from of course. contrary to popular belief you can get good quality parts from ebay you just have to be a smart shopper. make sure the person you buy from is a exedy dealer.

yes the 650 covers me picking your car up, towing it to my place, tearing out the old autotragic trans and chunkin it, and installing the new 5 speed swap. ill let you know of any other repairs that are needed. i usually suggest replacing the rear main seal and any gaskets that are easily accessible at this time.

would be about a week for the car to be done. could be done sooner but i have to pick up cars and deliver parts at random times 24/7 so a week would be safe

Thiss sounds like a good deal to me.. i just have to wait for my step dads settlement check to be ready for cashing because my mom owes me a grand (should be cashed by friday).. and then ill have to buy the clutch .. ill also have to let the person trying to buy my car that im not sellig it anymore.. i wish i could have everything ready sooner cause school starts on the 24th .. Im only 17 haha..

But i will figure all this out and talk to my mom about it... its really up to me since its my money.. just its a matter of time now..

I do know there are some problems with my motor.. i think the only things wrong are the power steering has a leak. only 3 cylinders are working due to the need of a new fuel injector. and the timing chain tensioner i think needs to be tightened.. but my moms friend is a master mechanic for nissan and can do that for me just the cost of the fuel injector. . . .(Not for you to fix just letting you know cause the timing chain does make a clicking noise)

Will this still be available within the next few weeks. ?

i always have 5 speed swap parts. dont always have the history or driving experience ive had with this one but i guarentee all my parts.

if hes gonna fix that stuff for free jump on that, its a good deal, lol. i have fuel injectors and could fix that for you for 40. cheaper than a new injector, just a thought. the clicking from the timing chain is probably the 2 tensioners that need to be removed. i also have power steering lines as well. if its the high pressure line thats 60. could install for another 30.

if you need the car by the 24th for school we could probably arrange that. i dont ask for any money till the cars done. i could get it done by friday. just an idea.

yeah the only thing is would be the time to get the clutch.. unless you know of a place where i can buy one?

I will have to talk to my mom about it . and make sure everything is good for the check and me getting paid..

can i contact you through your email thats on your profile? or do you not check it? or i could just come back to this forum and reply with what we can work out..

yes that email is a good way to get ahold of me. this is where i would get an exedy oem clutch, i know they are a dealer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...l1116theres someone that goes by the name of partsladi on ebay that sells them cheaper but i havnt investigated it yet. theres also a guy on craigslist that has been trying to sell an act clutch for 300 but money talks. personally id wave 200 in his face and see if he bites. i can talk to him if you need, he'll remember me and i have a way of annoying people until they sell me their uneeded parts cheap lol. thats how i got the stuff to build my ka for half price brand new lol

lol, how do you feel about abilene? looking to do a 5spd swap, and you offer a hell of a price, as i dont have the experience or tools to attempt on my own.
