I wondered if any one knows what kind of transmission the 1994 Q45 has in it. All so I wondered if any on knows of a high performance chip for the Q45, and can it be installed by non profesional mechanic or is their extensive tunning required for chip use?

Merry Christmass!!!

The one in my sig is on a Nissan President, ( essentially a Q45)

President thread ( 56k beware)zerothread?id=143148

Impul President Webpagehttp://www.impul.co.jp/product...t.htm

Impul also makes kits for the Q45http://www.impul.co.jp/product...5.htm

(Prices are *roughly* 100 yen=1 USD, ie..10,000 Yen= 100 USD)

Impul has a distributor in the USA but I'm unsure whether they carry anything for the Q45 here or not.

This is great, I am very happy to see that people like you guys, are serious about their cars. I just traded my 1972 Caprice with a 454 cid in it for a 1994 Q45, so now I want to learn EVERY THING about my '94 Infiniti.

Gosh, nothing against a Q, I love mine, but I'd have kept the Caprice. I'm sure it's a huge difference 70's technology, versus 09's technology, but I'm a sucker for an Old GM product with a BB . The two I specifically recall, was my Moms '65 Impala wagon (400/TH400) and my cousins '67 Impala 2 door hardtop (396/M22). Ohh, my teenage years .

Welcome to NICO, you shold find almost anything you need here, not just car related, so read/research/then ask away .

Before I became a Nissan guy in 1985 [300zx], I had a series of Chev from 1970, [3] station wagons and [3] 2 dr Caprices all 350 4bbls everyone had limited slip diffs and performace gear sets and the largest rear sway bars available. GM was pretty good about secret Police options and with the proper mix you could create a decent vehicle......you just had to special order and wait.

Wow, too bad you got rid of the Caprice. Must have been fun to drive a big boat like that. I still miss my old 79 Impala sometimes and it wasn't half the car yours was.

I trade my Caprice because it was slowly rusting, I dont have a garage. I love old cars still, I have owned a 66 Rambler, 65 Implala, 81 Vette, 71 VW bus, and 72 Caprice. The Infiniti is heavy at over 4000 pounds, but has a great engine. After a few mods it will shape up just fine. I dont think it will every turn heads like an old chevy, but it will work.
