transmission upgrade 4 redtop SR20

i just recently swaped a redtop sr20 in my 91 240sx went 2 go drive it 4 the first time and it lost oil pressure not far from my shop and destroyed the stock t25 and it sounds like the motors hurt 2, (cant tell yet cause turbos making so much noise) i have plans for the tomei 2.2 stroker and i need 2 know how much power the stock sr20 trans can handle and if there are any stronger trans that could bolt up or swap housings so i can make my turbo selection. ive been seaching for hours and cant find any specs or upgrades for the trans and i cant find much on the power output of the tomei storker either. Please any input would be great. Thanks.

z32 transmission will bolt up with an adapter plate, mazwork sell the kit to make the swap possible

i realize this is most likely out of your price range, but i remember having bookmarked this site.... and seeing these. os giken gear set as well as nismo transmissions, and hks transmissions. just throwng ideas out there.

i would love to buy that HKS sequential but dang 12g's! That nismo close ratio 6 speed is a real good looking trans for the price. Does anyone know if any z32 came with a six speed and are they strong enough for 550hp??

Please stop replacing words with numbers, it makes your posts incredibly difficult to read.

Most people just use the stock SR trans, it is a very stout gearbox, and it will take a lot of abuse, as far as how much actual power it is safe to, I do not know. What I do know, is that if you treat them nicely, they will handle an awful lot.

sorry about useing numbers i havent really posted anything up on this site before and i was trying to save space, but anyways i guess im just going to stick with the stock trans for now and if it breaks then ill just spend the four grand for the nismo six speed. thanks for the help.

2nd gear can be weak, but as long as your not drag racing with wrinkle walls and alot of power it will be fine. I just did a ka/sr transmission swap after 2nd let go after about 100 passes on drag tires with 6500-7000rpm clutch drops. Ian is correct as always, if you treat them right and don't abuse them they will take alot. I had $300 and 6+ hours labor in my transmission swap which is alot better than spending several thousand on other options IMO. If your wanting to do some serious drag racing the mazworx Z32 swap is the best option. They run it on a 9 sec. S14 with over 800whp. Here's a pic of my second gear........

thanks for the link and thanks for all the other help too. Im definetly going to go with the z32 trans when i stroke my motor.
