WTF are you guys doing? If you look at the FSM/owner's manual/every nissan gearbox, you need a gl-4 oil (75-90w).Joe wrote:i run redline lightweight shockproof, you might want to consider MT90 or superlight shockproof.
RP syncromax is NOT a gl-4 oil. It is only recommended for use in gearboxes that use MOTOR oil, not GEAR oil.
lightweight shockproof is like a 30w motor oil, and superlight has the consistency of an ATF.
I can't believe you haven't destroyed your trannys yet....but if i were you I would change that oil out to something that the engineers at Nissan spent hundreds of hours designing the transmission around.
I use shockproof heavy (viscosity of a 75-90), and it seems to work pretty well once it's warm. but i get a good clunk shifting into 2nd and it doesn't like to go into 1st while cold
