I run all mine in series because there are four seasons in TX.

The picture doesn't show it well but I cut in the line coming OUT of the radiator (hot transmission fluid first into radiator-somewhat cooled (?) then out). Then it flows into the cooler, then out to external filter, then to the small finned cooler under the transmission (also part of the transmission replacement by Infiniti) and finally back into the transmission. There is and awful lot of exposed line it travels in so maybe that helps keep the temp down also.

I'm running my trans cooler in front of the radiator bypassing the "heater".I put it at the top down wards at a 45 deg. angle to avoid road crap, had to make a bracket from the core support riser through one of the tube returns. I removed the metal lines and put in trans cooler hose in the stock routing.Only drive it in summer though... no trans temp gauge either.

Might be cool to find a thermally activated switch that routes the ATF through the "heater" until a specified temp. then cutting it off, and sending it to the cooler when warmed. Or switching between them to keep it at a preferable temp.

BTW the NICO ECU rocks!

Flagship-Q your car looks very nice! Is that a wind deflecter on the sunroof? It's very small and looks cool.

I decided to put mine in front of the condenser, behind the trumpet looking air intake and run it in series with the radiator, as did Maxnix.

We have about 2 weeks of 'round 10* C in mid winter and about max 38* C for a week or 2 summer. Normaly we average 25*.....guess you'd have to call it paradise, compared to the Temps I see some of you guys have.

It's hard to see the cooler in the first pic as its hidden by the Air intake, it's just to give an idea of the location. The second pic is taken from under the front of the car. The angle is just to make it easier to connect the tubes, but it also exposes a bit more of the cooler to fresh air. I guess it's not the best location but I recon it's better than not having a cooler at all.

Wynn's transmission Power Flush $160Mobil 1 ATF 14 Lt $60Tranny Cooler $80

Peace of mind ................ Priceless.

Thanks. It's the Infiniti deflector that I presume you can buy from the dealership (came on the car when I bought it). It's smoke color and covers about 1/4 of the front of the sunroof.

Doesn't everyone have one to decrease top speed, I do to give everybody a chance..........they sag slightly in hot temperatures and catch leaves/pine needles, and dirt.

I had the dealer sunroof deflector on my car for over 4 years, then I took it off. Now there are deep scratches where the deflector used to sit.

I would not recommend the bolt-on type. No matter how tight you install it, the deflector will move around slightly and eventually some dirt will get underneath the rubber gasket. Then you have a very effective sanding device on top of your car.

If I wanted another one, it would be the universal ones with the 3M double sided tape. Then all you have to worry about is removing the old glue because the deflector flew off in the middle of a race.

Well if you care about things like asthetics and paint and scratches........had the bolt on version ~~7 years. Depends on WHO installs it!

I removed mine last week when I waxed the car and there were scratches. I reinstalled it and no matter how tight I got the bolts, it still can move slightly.

That may be ideal for the warm months but Ii'd be wary of having it that way in the winter. Might cause the transmission to run too cool.
Is this possiable?? because mine is mounted in front the condenser.

"............controlled amount of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is allowed to bypass the stacked plate core, passing through a self-regulating orifice which monitors resistance to flow. Controlled by viscosity, the thicker ATF is returned directly to lube through two open bypass passages positioned in the stacked plate core. As operating temperature increase, more of the ATF flow is directed through the core. The result is highly efficient cooling technology that combines improved protection against lube system failure with the required levels of optimal heat transfer. "

Mine is doing fine with no scratches or wear marks. It's a bigger thicker aftermarket version and not the dealer version(which according to Joe, they don't make anymore[90-93] and he hasn't carried in a year). The corners of the deflecter there is a small opening under the rubber gasket to let water run out or air run in so there's no chance for rust. Haven't caught any leaves or pine needles yet either. Dirt gets washed away with the regular Q Shower and or bath. It is a bit loose, but no wear or rust.

I will testify to one thing. First Q45 was used for trips to Gulf Coast and Colorado form Austin. First ATF exchange was at 54K, and it was very difficult to distinguish from new ATF. Stock system only. Maybe because most of it was highway, but loaded and steep grades in CO, and I am sure he didn't down shift much.

One thing that wasn't answered in this..... Other than the ULTRA expensive $200 B$M transmission cooler. Which one is everyone running? I am looking for one that fits between the RAD and the Condenser, Shouldn't they be $50 max?

What's a stacked plate cooler? The only choice I had was Small (4,6 cyl) Medium (V8) or Large (Truck). Do you think the medium one I installed will be sufficient?ThanksGreg
