The picture doesn't show it well but I cut in the line coming OUT of the radiator (hot transmission fluid first into radiator-somewhat cooled (?) then out). Then it flows into the cooler, then out to external filter, then to the small finned cooler under the transmission (also part of the transmission replacement by Infiniti) and finally back into the transmission. There is and awful lot of exposed line it travels in so maybe that helps keep the temp down also.superuber wrote:This may be a dumb question, but what if you eliminate the transmission lines going to the rad and just run an external cooler. Thanks. It's the Infiniti deflector that I presume you can buy from the dealership (came on the car when I bought it). It's smoke color and covers about 1/4 of the front of the sunroof.redmanfx wrote:Flagship-Q your car looks very nice! Is that a wind deflecter on the sunroof? It's very small and looks cool.

BUT.....they look soooooo coooool!Q45tech wrote:Doesn't everyone have one to decrease top speed, I do to give everybody a chance..........they sag slightly in hot temperatures and catch leaves/pine needles, and dirt.
I had the dealer sunroof deflector on my car for over 4 years, then I took it off. Now there are deep scratches where the deflector used to sit.Flagship-Q wrote:BUT.....they look soooooo coooool!
I removed mine last week when I waxed the car and there were scratches. I reinstalled it and no matter how tight I got the bolts, it still can move slightly.Q45tech wrote:Well if you care about things like asthetics and paint and scratches........had the bolt on version ~~7 years. Depends on WHO installs it!
Is this possiable?? because mine is mounted in front the condenser.DrewQ45 wrote:
That may be ideal for the warm months but Ii'd be wary of having it that way in the winter. Might cause the transmission to run too cool.
Mine is doing fine with no scratches or wear marks. It's a bigger thicker aftermarket version and not the dealer version(which according to Joe, they don't make anymore[90-93] and he hasn't carried in a year). The corners of the deflecter there is a small opening under the rubber gasket to let water run out or air run in so there's no chance for rust. Haven't caught any leaves or pine needles yet either. Dirt gets washed away with the regular Q Shower and or bath. It is a bit loose, but no wear or rust.Q45tech wrote:Well if you care about things like asthetics and paint and scratches........had the bolt on version ~~7 years. Depends on WHO installs it!
